He got the ball there, that's got to be disallowed

    Wolves (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

It went to VAR because linesman flagged to disallow it. Bernardo lightly jostles Sa but he's ONSIDE when he does it. When Stones heads it he's offside but by then he's no longer interfering with play. So VAR intervened to GIVE the goal which is why you see Kavanagh make the square screen signal...

    VAR Discussion Thread | 2024/25

Correct. Linesman flagged for offside, VAR intervened as when Silva jostled Sa he was ONSIDE but then offside after Stones headed it, by which time he wasn't interfering. Heck if that was disallowed we (Arsenal) would never score at corners!

Match Thread | Wolves vs. Man City (20/10/24)

Ah it seems there's some noise now coming out that the VAR team just showed the replay from the point at which Stones heads the ball, and not the nudge by Silva? Either way I still wouldn't disallow that but wouldn't overturn it if the ref had blown his whistle.

Not sure why that was even sent to VAR. Else hardly any goals would be scored from corners.

I'm waiting until City's win odds are evens then sticking £100 on. Free money.

I said there's an argument to be had that's all. For sure Pep is the GOAT so if you had him in charge of that invincibles team then lord only knows what would have happened because I hope it's not an argument that the invincibles team had some of the best players to ever play in the PL. Some of...

It's early in the season, I'm pretty sure we'll beat Liverpool as we've turned up for the big games, issue is after the next set of fixtures City could be top despite having had injuries and not at their 'final form' yet so if Arsenal don't go on a long winning run they are toast. We haven't...

Saliba is lightning quick but regardless he pulled him back because his brain wasn't engaged. It was a stupid thing to do after an equally stupid pass from Trossard. The whole team must have been smoking crack before kick off. Even 11 v 11 we didn't look the better side.

Saliba would have caught him TBF but regardless the rules are if a player is clear on goal and brought down it's a red, end of. So the decision was correct even if it had been Usain Bolt that had brought him down.

    Arsenal Thread | 2024/25

Firstly we won the Cup Winners Cup and secondly there's a strong argument to be said that the Arsenal side that remained unbeaten and had players like Henry, Bergkamp, Pires, Cole, Campbell etc in it was a superior team to the current City team. But we'll never find out. But for sure neither...

Yeah it always was. I'm pretty confident about that game though. Agree that hopefully it tempers expectations as we've shown that when we are the 'media favourites to win' we don't cope with that. Maybe spending a few months in the chasing pack will help as only City seem to cope with being...

Saka will be back, possibly Odegaard too and whilst Saliba is out we do have the Italian National team's centre half to step in. But more important than all of that is the fact the match is at the Emirates, not Anfield!

True. However this was Arsenal's 1st away defeat in 2024 so it's not like this is a bad run. What matters is how we respond. My point still stands however- to show progress we need to get more points than last season. That's still possible.

Premier League Games 19/20/21 October 2024

Since Arteta has been at Arsenal we've received 5 more red cards than any other team. So a lot! Every fan thinks their reds are undeserved (there's some cretins on Arsenal forums currently moaning about the Saliba red). The only one I can remember being overly harsh was when Martinelli got 2...

The thing is, fans of every team think they don't get the 50/50 decisions. Every single team. Clearly however mathematically that just doesn't work out!
