Doesn’t the money from the TV deals go to the PL before being distributed to the clubs? I had surmised matters such as merit payments would be made net of any operating costs (eg staff costs) and that legal fees would be treated in similar fashion. My bad if not!

The PL is a separate company with an independent identity. We are not paying their costs save in the most indirect way.

The legal bills are the PL responsibility not that of the shareholders. It is likely they have insurance. If not, they are even more shambolic and disorganised that we already thought.
