Well said, it's very similar in Spain and Italy as well, elderly care is not at the same level as the UK, many elderly people live with family. I planned for looking after my parents when we bought our house which is on the same Avenue as my parents, I knew the day would come where there'd only...

IT is basic £325k up to £500k dependent on who receives the estate, it's definitely not £1m.

    Champions League Draw - 29th August '24 | Opponents (pg69) | Fixtures (pg128)

Because there's no groups this season, just one big league of 36, no team can play any team from their country in the initial league phase, however any team could play up to two teams from the same country but only once, home or away. The league position will determine the draw for the knockout...

It's a dilemma, when my mum died my Dad was 85, me and Mrs H and my sister looked after him but it was hard work, cooking, shopping, having meals with him everyday, getting him up in the morning, spending time watching football or just TV with him, it was a full time job and I was running my...

    Champions League Draw - 29th August '24 | Opponents (pg69) | Fixtures (pg128)

Paddy Power and Billy Hill say differently! I know it could happen but I don't think any team outside the top 8 in the betting would win it. Last two final losing teams were not anywhere near the favourites but I'd suggest this new format will ensure outsiders have less of a chance this time around.

Only £3k per year can be gifted to other people to avoid inheritance tax if someone dies within 7 years. Eg, Mrs Smith gives her daughter £20k in 2024 then pops her clogs in 2025, 17k of the gift would form part of her estate. Of course there's ways around it such as trust funds but...

    Champions League Draw - 29th August '24 | Opponents (pg69) | Fixtures (pg128)

The winner will come from the top 8, almost guaranteed, no club will want the burden of two extra games in February and by finishing as high as possible in the League it guarantees a home tie in the second leg of the knockout stage against a team finishing 9-24 plus the route to the final is...

    Champions League Draw - 29th August '24 | Opponents (pg69) | Fixtures (pg128)

You're right but there has to be pots seeded to ensure teams play others of varying degrees of ability predetermined by club and country coefficients. Teams in Pot 4 will find it really tough playing 6 games against other clubs that on paper are levels above them.

    Champions League Draw - 29th August '24 | Opponents (pg69) | Fixtures (pg128)

Not sure how they're doing it but UEFA like to stretch it out and it's reported the draw is on from 17:00 - 18:25 so I'm guessing they're going to go with matchday 1 then have a gap every 10 minutes to chat with some ex footballers and so on until matchday 8, 70 minutes of waffle between the draws.

    Champions League Draw - 29th August '24 | Opponents (pg69) | Fixtures (pg128)

The knockout stage definitely isn't engineered, it's based on position of the initial league of 36, the knockout phase is predetermined, a bit like Wimbledon and the Darts World Final, top half draw, bottom half draw. Finish 1st or 2nd, can't meet each other until the final, it's designed to...

    Champions League Draw - 29th August '24 | Opponents (pg69) | Fixtures (pg128)

It's really not complicated, it's very simple and the draw is being conducted by computer because UEFA don't want teams to play others from the same country more than once if possible but it's inevitable some will be involved with two games but one at home and one away, eg, could play Stuggart...

The going rate for skilled workers is more lucrative now than anytime I can remember. My mates lad is a joiner and earns £25 an hour from the company he works for, a grand a week, my last job in 2012 before I went self employed earned me £40k per year plus car for running a £15m a year business...

Raheem Sterling | Arsenal Player (on loan)

I think the contract offer was on the table in the season before he left but he chose not to sign. He was quite poor in his last season, I'm sure the extension was withdrawn and led to him leaving. I posted on here after the Villa match his body language at the presentation was shite and got...

Brill, seen the UK Subs a couple of times back in the day, not for the last few years though. Might give that Rebellion Festival a go next year, got a few old mates that were on the punk scene when it happened, we were late teens then, all mid 60's now, where's the time gone?

A former colleague of mine was a guy called Nigel Crossthwaite, he was on guitar and vocals for a couple of Blackpool bands, Pink Torpedoes and Sick 56, played the Blackpool festival quite a few times, have you ever seen them there? He was a Project Manager at work, I went to a Pistols gig with...

First saw them in 95 at the then named Nynex Arena, supported by the Chemical Brothers, then at Lancashire Cricket Ground on a Sunday after a City game and at The Etihad, enjoyed all 3, will be trying for tickets but going to go for Edinburgh or Cardiff and make a trip of it.

I know! I could tell you about our trip to Vegas to watch Ricky Hatton v Mayweather but think I'd face a ban for waffling, suffice to say it was worse than Istanbul and that takes some beating :-).
