The Album Review Club - Week #146 - (page 1935) - Ocean Rain - Echo and the Bunnymen

It is ultimately a very individual thing, and is meant to be unique to you/one. If you feel it was genuinely new to you and you wouldn't have found it without this thread, I wouldn't question it. How popular they are should he secondary to that. Used the Beatles as a somewhat obvious example...

The end of round break playlist - Favourite Finds - The customary two week break and collective playlist + guessing game, before going again. With a bit of a theme. Following up on an idea and suggestion by @Saddleworth2 some time ago, this one will focus on this thread and looking back at...

    Rodri - The 2024 Ballon d'Or Winner! (Pg 131)

Regarding some of the subsequent discussions in the media, amongst pundits, and fans - I have zero issue with the following or such takes. That Vinicius Jr is a more 'exciting' player. That he deserves it more for hsi football. That his 3 trophies are collectively more significant than...

    North Stand Construction Discussion

Yeah true, arguably. Some will have good views. That's the case for most hotels.

North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

I was responding to your specific point. I am aware of the wider point. For some. And I disagree, as I do with the core presumption of your take above (that the club are not committed to making the NS an atmospheric end). But I have said what I had to say on that previously, and have been...

Blue Moon Playlist Review Club - Season 2 - Episode 27 - Out on blue 6 - Gone Too Soon (pg 438)

I suppose I was looking at it more as 'too soon' rather than 'too young'. In terms of where they were and what they had to offer. Chris Cornell would have been too young to die, at age 52, but musically you can argue his prime was behind him. Which I wouldn't say for Mozart. Or the others I...

I considered No Rain. But given the tone, went off their final album

Mouth full of cavities - Blind Melon (2001 digital remaster, preferably) Liked them back in the day. Shannon Hoon died of an oversose on tour, aged 28, in 1995.

    North Stand Construction Discussion

They have started assebling the skybar truss, which will be lifted in one piece to bridge the tops of the two towers. They can't do that till the west tower is fully connected to the ground, but looks like they are getting ready to do it very quickly after that though.

    North Stand Construction Discussion

I don't think people appreciate how complex the roof geometry is here. Particularly around the two towers, skybar and the main stand roof. I've noticed it a while back, the different bitty steps and junctions that will all need tied up and weatherproofed. For example the main curve of the roof...

    North Stand Construction Discussion

If you are talking about the two wings, they are the exact same height. The office and the hotel are both just under 34m to top of parapet. The hotel has a stepped one storey lower on the side leg, and the 'cut-away' above the screens is different on the two, but the overall height of the main...

    North Stand Construction Discussion

I was thinking about this back when the PA came out. What point do they take as the topping out in this one? Or do they have one for the hotel, one for the museum/office block and one for the stand.

North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

I think that is a very valid point. I.e how the club go about determining demand, when, etc. The 1894 survey obviously went a long way, but arguing it should have been enough to convince the club that more than 3000 would be filled is misplaced imo. Lots of fans that filled it in and said they...

North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

Are rail seats cheaper than purely seated seats? How much of a difference is there in paying for a ticket with the option to stand (but still have a seat too), and just having a seat? By the same logic, if that is the case, the club turning 40% of the new stand additional seating into chraper...

    Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

And that is probably for the best, at this point. He could go to Real, win a couple trophies, be the best thing since sliced bread, end up being a political pawn scapegoat, get sacked, and be done with them, all before Pep finishes up here. And that's with as little as a two year extension...
