Not necessarily. I've seen plenty who are tall and fast and lack the technique side to make it. And there is evidence of many small midfielders who have done well without speed or physicality, simply due to the difference the midfield role requires, mainy playing in the pockets.

There is a solid city player in there for the future. Currently just lacking experience, thats why he is making some mistakes. But he has a decent frame and speed for his age already. Hopefully next year he can be a nice sub defender to play the cup games, best way to get these young guys in.

He was better than any other midfielder playing as the 6. Defending as the 6 in our 316 formation is basically impossible, Rodri could barely do it. Lewis played next to him often, but frequently pushed up leaving him alone.
