Nusa looks good for Norway. Would be funny to have Norways future front 3: Nusa Haaland Bobb

    Martín Zubimendi

Enrique isnt Spains manager, oh you mean the 2022 world cup over 2 years ago? He was fine: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/2022/nov/30/spain-creative-decision-rodri-defence-paying-off-luis-enrique-world-cup Him having to cover for an aging Busquets who cant run...

    Martín Zubimendi

Im gonna have to disagree with you both. I like that as a nice "backup" option since Rodri can get goals and assists, but here are the 2 reasons why its a bad default option compared to my solution. 1) Rodri got alot of goals and assists as a CDM because of the space afforded to him. Thr...

    Martín Zubimendi

It's extremely easy to have them both play together. Just have Rodri do the Stones role, defend as a CB, then move into the CDM spot next to Zubimendi. Rodri is clearly tall enough to win aerial as a CB. I do want Gvardiol learning that role over Stones in the future though, he can be so good...

    82 | Rico Lewis - 2024/25

Not necessarily. I've seen plenty who are tall and fast and lack the technique side to make it. And there is evidence of many small midfielders who have done well without speed or physicality, simply due to the difference the midfield role requires, mainy playing in the pockets.

    66 | Jahmai Simpson-Pusey - 2024/25

There is a solid city player in there for the future. Currently just lacking experience, thats why he is making some mistakes. But he has a decent frame and speed for his age already. Hopefully next year he can be a nice sub defender to play the cup games, best way to get these young guys in.

    82 | Rico Lewis - 2024/25

Will depend on him if he can up his quality in the final 3rd. He uses his small frame well to keep the ball, turn quickly and make space for himself, makes good decisions quickly, and he is clearly a warrior. He is kind of like Bernie but without elite ball control. He can be that 8 who...

    Players who might improve us

We need 3 tall and fast defenders who can pass a ball. The defenders we have are getting old, not good enough, or injury prone. There must be plenty of those around for Pep to mold. And then a tall and strong CDM who can do Rodris role and or the Stones position. We need a strong back 5...

Premier League Games 9/10 November 2024

7 teams have 18 or 19 pts right now. Tightest top 4 battle in years. Impossible to predict.

    Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

No more 316. It's way too dangerous, we need solidity at the back. Hopefully we have a few more defenders fit after the break, and we go back to Stones pushing into midfield or Gvardiol doing it. We definitely need more tall quick defenders in the coming windows, and another CDM.

    82 | Rico Lewis - 2024/25

Mold him to be a future 8. All that defensive side of the game he learned is still valuable as a hard working 8. He will never be a city quality defender, he isn't fast or strong/tall enough. If he had speed, then he could make up for the lack of strength or height. If he was tall and strong...

    The Squad planning thread

Imo the biggest problem is the defense and cdm spot. All of our league wins were due to a strong defensive, which THEN gives your attack a strong foundation to work off. Now we still need future planning for the aging attackers, but I think getting McAtee/O Reilly more involved, then buying a...

All our youth that left lately are performing well for their clubs. Could have been the depth we needed all along considering our aging squad.

Ban this guy and 2 ppl that liked his post. Ridiculous.

    8 | Mateo Kovačić - 2024/25

He was better than any other midfielder playing as the 6. Defending as the 6 in our 316 formation is basically impossible, Rodri could barely do it. Lewis played next to him often, but frequently pushed up leaving him alone.

I honestly couldnt tell you a single noteworthy thing he did in that game.

Kinda sucks how all these injuries just completely ruin the season. I was so looking forward to Oscar Bobb, he was looking so good in pre season.

Garbage 2nd half again. Figure it out Pep. The excuse of they are tired is not good enough.

Just hope we can stay in top 4 now, and we rebuild for next year. Not expecting anything this season based on the performances and injuries.

What happened from 2nd half? Pep needs to take some blame here.
