The Album Review Club - Week #146 - (page 1935) - Ocean Rain - Echo and the Bunnymen

What did I miss - where did Supertramp enter the fray from? They made some albums that, for me, are on a completely different level to this week’s offering (and many others if I’m honest). I have one of their albums that means a lot to me both on a personal and musical level so, one day…

    Gigs Thread

Saw Alice Cooper in Birmingham on Wednesday night (supported by Primal Scream). Alice still delivers despite being in his 70’s. His very well drilled band are much younger. Despite his last two albums being very good, he only played on song from them and just delivered “hit” after “hit”...

I’ve seen them headline an arena. They were decent. Went because my daughters wanted to see them.

Blue Moon Playlist Review Club - Season 2 - Episode 27 - Out on blue 6 - Gone Too Soon (pg 438)

Only the 7th time for me. One new song and 20 of the best.(known). Very slick, band tighter than a pair of spandex kex. Alice still got it.

Liam Payne dies at the age of 31

I don't know much about him and I didn't make the connection to be fair when I saw a headline this morning but I have in fact taken my daughters to see 1D in concert a couple of times so I find myself genuinely saddened by this. RIP young man.

In honour of the fact I am about to watch a 70 something sing it live, Alice Cooper: “I’m Eighteen”.

The Bluemoon Song Cup 2024 Champion Is Hilts!

Very tough. When I was a teenybopper and MTTG was in the charts, I didn’t like it (too slow); whereas I’ve always liked that Talk Talk track (from first hearing) but I grew up - a bit - and can now look back nostalgically at MTTG, plus it is a stone cold classic. So Gladys wins.

I only listened to their dreadful version of John I’m Only Dancing on the bonus disc.

I’ve seen U2 a few times and got most of their albums (all bar the last one I think). They can be brilliant. Joshua Tree their undoubted peak.

It is very much of its time and you’ve nailed it. Might give it another listen but my Rory Gallagher at the BBC box set has just arrived so that is going to take some listening to. Therefore - I’ll give The Chameleons a nostalgic 6/10.

6/10. Mixed bag. Fine guitar player. Some tracks not for me - you can guess which.

I will add the last couple of tracks but it might be this evening. Edit: Added but not sure if that was the intended Lawrence of Arabia tune so can change that plus might adjust sequencing once more. Thanks to everyone that contributed. I added three more tracks of my choice. Compiler's...

    Fulham (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

I want Pep to stay regardless. The average of our squad isn’t bad at all and I we have another young player arriving in January who we can hope is destined for big things. A few of the older players will need to be moved on if possible and replaced next summer and then some more the summer after.
