    This seems entirely predictable though.

Without needling people, I commented as such just now. I don't think it's anything that reads definitively one way or the other.

It is - the fact that 70+ million who voted early could distort the exit poll.

Another thought - foreign policy's score suggests either no-one cares about the Middle East or it was just a sample that didn't care much (they may all have voted early). Does it mean that Israel didn't make much of an impression? (this by the way is the same CNN poll mentioned earlier)

The economy not top is the interesting thing as Trump has banged on about it all campaign. Difficult to read much into "state of democracy" - both sides can probably argue that for their side. Abortion over Immigration makes sense to me - important everywhere.

It seems really odd listening to Vance give an aspirational message while taking questions having gone to vote - no-one does here because the media aren't allowed to broadcast it anyway. Suddenly, he's all congenial big-tent respect-thy-neighbour mode, although insisting on using Trump's middle...

Kemi Badenoch - Elected Tory Leader

Philp as shadow home secretary Patel as shadow foreign (Kit Malthouse just suggested - jokingly - that getting sacked/forced to resign for running a freelance foreign policy with Israel showed 'enthusiasm for foreign affairs!) Stride as shadow chancellor seems quite sane, certainly in comparison.

Very low turnout in the <25 age bracket. Bad for Harris.

Oh dear. It's almost as though it's going to be close.

First town result in from Dixville Notch in NH. 100% turnout (6 people). The result - a tie.

    Donald Trump

Harris and Trump running up the Rocky steps could be fun - first to the top wins. Possibly fatal though in Trump's case.

I don't know the US system - would he have to show up in court to prove cognitive impairment?

Kemi Badenoch - Elected Tory Leader

The shadow cabinet is going to be interesting. Mogg's business partner in as one of the chairmen, along with Huddleston who had a couple of awkward moments last week. Laura Trott as Shadow Education Secretary - because they need someone to ask questions later today. The big jobs will be...

    The British Monarchy

This is a good point. Who would decide the method of appointing a head of state? Who would you trust to create a method that provided a distinction from the prime minister?! I'm not sure I'd trust most current politicians/media not to try subverting the process.

Agent Orange is off... "election must be decided by 7, 8, 9 o'clock Toosday night". The fire is laid, and he's going to try to light it and hope it burns, no question about that.

Seems very unlikely unless the voting is much more one-sided than anticipated. Last time, it took until the Saturday before it was clear. Voting in somewhere like Nevada won't close until about 1 am UK time.

    F1 2024 season

Three drivers on the podium who seemed to be the only ones able to drive today. Verstappen getting through the field without problem and then getting lucky with the red flag. Norris got done by LeClerc at the restart and had to go straight on or hit someone. Hulkenberg putting in a bid for...
