    General Election - 4th July 2024

When most of the electorate realise that sunak is totally out of touch with the real life consequences of 14 years of self-servatives government, it is very relevant in this election, and you don't rise through the legal profession to head the CPS without being able to think on your feet...

    Stephen Yaxley-Lennon

You have to feel sorry for him. With as many personna's as he has, it would be impossible to remember which convictions relate to which identity

Just imagine how many would be under investigation if Sunak had informed his MP's

Has social media made the UK more right wing?

A forum where most will be from a working class background in a City that has always been radical, from the Peterloo Massacre of 1819, the anti corn law league in 1839, Pankhurst Sisters and the suffragette movement just before and after the Great War it would be perfectly normal to expect a...

He doesn't need to. He can go as and when he wants. I'm just surprised that he isn't selling his used nappies to his flock (yet)

    General Election - 4th July 2024

I wonderhow many of "other" voters are from NI constituencies and can't vote for any of the above, or is there more SNP supporters than we thought

    The Labour Party

Asylum seekers do not have a national insurance number so therefore cannot legally work until their case is heard, when they will probably be given leave to remain, at which point they will no longer be an asylum seeker. Unfortunately from application to hearing, the delay is much too long...

    General Election - 4th July 2024

No surprise that the self-servatives are corrupt, but still disappointed that the campaign director has stood down when he was doing an excellent job for the country.

    General Election - 4th July 2024

Interesting topic tbh. I would meet my local MP roughly every couple of months or so at charity or cultural gatherings and have had a number of lengthy conversations with her about politics etc, and I know she works tirelessly for the constituency (she has helped a few of my neighbours and...

    General Election - 4th July 2024

The self-servatives have loads of assets, mainly hidden in the Cayman islands away from the taxman

    General Election - 4th July 2024

I don't look too much at the general polls about national voting intentions as a party (say with a yellow rosette) can have a fairly smallish national percentage, but spaced in concentrated areas giving themselves more seats than a party with a higher percentage spread widely.

    Donald Trump

General Ross from County Down managed to burn it down a number of years ago. Indeed, the statue in his memory is just across the Narrowwater from where part of Biden's family originally hailed from.

    General Election - 4th July 2024

Main difference between Scotland and Northern Ireland in this context is that a Labour, lib-dems and the self servatives actively campaign in Scotland against the SNP, whereas neither the Lib-dems nor Labour stand, and the tories indulge in a bit of tokenism in some NI constituencies. At the...

    General Election - 4th July 2024

I have no choice, none of the candidates standing in my constituency will be forming the next government https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_parliamentary_approval_for_the_invasion_of_Iraq I find quoting facts about the war in Iraq usually quietens the self-servatives apologists. 84 Labour...

    The Liberal Democrats

I have a hunch (with zero evidence to back it up) that NIMBYISM is not as big an issue as 5,10 or 20 year's ago. A lot of people are realising that their son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter will never be able to buy their own house, and in places not even afford to rent. For some having a...

    The Liberal Democrats

It wouldn't be "asking people not to vote for them" but prioritising resources (time, people, money etc), to seats where they are most likely to unseat a self-servative and from some of the interviews a couple of weeks ago, that seemed to be their intention

    The Liberal Democrats

The reason why I used TUV as my example for why STV is preferable to PR is that they have a small dedicated core of support while the majority (of Unionists never mind the entire electorate) find their policies repulsive. Under FPTP they would have a number of seats, under PR they would have a...
