Definitely hinders him somewhat, but going to struggle to get back to the centre given the calibre of KdB performances in there recently.

    The battle for 4th place

I was referring to another posters opinion, not yours. However if I must point out something in your statement that isn't a fact: you state finishing 3rd means we get to plan for pre-season as we like, yet if we come 4th we wouldn't? That isn't a fact (unless you are personally involved in our...

    Nasri back in full training

Indeed. Similar is often quickly said with the "small not-important kicks" Aguero gets & Kompany's small knocks that keep them out for weeks though, truth usually comes out later into the injury. Hopefully MP is not being his usual over optimistic self - we'll need Nasri for the PL run in.

    Nasri back in full training

A few pages back someone said they've heard he's out for the remainder of the season also though. Guess it's just wait & see from a more official source.

Painful list of injuries again. Hart Zab Ota Mangala Kolarov Dinho Toure Navas KdB Delph Aguero Don't like Delph on LW but would rather us have KdB central given his form in that position of late & it sounds unlikely Sterling will start.

    The battle for 4th place

My point was they are suggesting the qualifying play-off rounds will affect our preseason as we will be required to come back early, or that we won't be prepared by then so could lose - like you said though the matches would actually take place after the season started, hence we should already...

We actually had Fernando, Fernandinho & Yaya on for the LC final; yes Yaya was deeper but Dinho helped out in midfield significantly. This wasn't a "weaker" Chelsea CM pairing IMO, it's their usual one of late - difference being Mourinho stuck Ramires in there & made it a 3 which caused the...

To be fair Yaya + Dinho vs Mikel + Fabregas isn't the same as what most people don't like Yaya facing in a 2. Depends on opposition & how they've set up. He had a good match I thought. Kept the ball moving, kept possession well & even won a few tackles. The amount of headers he won at Chelseas...

Didn't fancy him there. Nice pen though.

    The battle for 4th place

If we're having freak results due to lack of preparation "at that stage of the season" then we'll be in trouble, as we'll have played around 10% of the PL season. We should be prepared by then with or without the qualifying matches - I feel that's something we'd both expect to have happened...

Premier league games 16th & 17th April + midweek games

I'd rather West Ham win, means Stoke/Sot'on unlikely to get 6th (we play both these teams) & means Leicester will still be needing a win at Old Trafford.

Premier league games 16th & 17th April + midweek games

If ever a goal summed up their season. Keeper to Mahrez, pass through to Mr. WorkRate Kante bursting through midfield, into Vardy, smashed into the corner. Can only congratulate them really, at this rate they're not going to be posting a low total that relied on others failing, they'll be...

Clichy/Nasri confirmed out? I reckon a reasonable amount of rotation from what I saw in Pellegrini's comments. Can't see this being an easy win given Newcastles last result, would take 3 points in any shape or form. Every time I've watched us at St James' we've won, hoping for the same again -...

    The battle for 4th place

"Your opinion", yes, an opinion - my point exactly thanks. 1) Like you said this is just opinion, having an extra 2 matches after the beginning of the season seems a minor thing to me. You win the PL/FA Cup & you have the community shield, which is way before the qualifying matches for CL (in...

    The battle for 4th place

No, it's an opinion. Like I (and you) have mentioned there are no doubt (factual) benefits to finishing 3rd over 4th - however whether someone perceives those benefits as a "big difference" or "fairly insignificant" is their opinion. I assume you & whoever posted the original feel there's a big...

    The battle for 4th place

We play them 2nd last match of the season. I'm of the opinion they'll be safely top 4 by then - you could argue they'll be wanting 3rd rather than 4th, but they aren't looking likely to win the title if that's what you're suggesting?

    The battle for 4th place

Big win in terms of top 4. Newcastle away will be tough now as they've got hope rekindled; however we're in the driving seat now. Even if United win every match we can afford 2 draws from our final 5 matches - they'll struggle to win every match. Today showed what happens if we turn up against...

If it's just the one game then it's not so bad. If they're out for a few weeks we'll be struggling to rotate with the quality we've been able to put out of late.

Really good game of football. Thoroughly deserved that win, could've been 6/7 frankly. Hope Nasri/Clichy aren't badly injured as we'll need them to rotate the squad as we have been able to do this last couple of weeks.
