    Chelsea Thread - 2023/24

FFP is a fundamentally flawed concept in its present guise imo, albeit it's a nice idea(l) to aspire to. Realistically money has always been the primary reason a club is successful. City, Chelsea and every other club do all they can to work within/around current legislation in order to maximise...

Azpi and Kante are two of the best signings Chelsea have ever made in our entire club history.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

When you say 'hostile media outlets', don't you simply mean 'media outlets'? :) It's always really good to read informed opinions on any subject, btw. Thanks for taking the time to post.

Mount's issue as I understand it is that he wanted wage parity with Reece James. Mase has been superb for us overall and we love him, but that love is rapidly diminishing for me now as I don't see his position as reasonable. Reece James is arguably one of the best RBs in Europe. Show me a top...

That's some comedy gold right there :) To those alluding to us preferring Kepa over Mendy this season being somehow shady.. Mendy was injured. Mendy wanted wage parity with Kepa and that was not going to happen. Mendy is absolute shite with the ball at his feet, and as we all know, keepers...

I love PIF. They're taking Koulibaly off our hands :)

We are apparently making a move for Tchouameni. I cant see how that happens, but I'd certainly prioritise him over Rice if by some miracle Real and the player would consider it. Celta Vigo's Gabri Veiga is another, maybe more realistic midfield target.

That's being kind. He's been shite. Milk turns faster.

Maybe we haven't heard the last of that. The compulsary sale situation that led to the outgoing owner choosing to wipe the debt owed to him is, I'd guess, an unprecedented occurance, and as such I don't suppose there is much in the way of legislation to deal with it at this time. Maybe...

Chelsea Thread - 2022/23 | Pochettino confirmed as new manager

It's not an American or Chelsea thing. Gambling already dominates the advertising landscape during sports broadcasts, as anyone who watches sport on TV knows.

I would go further and say that advertising gambling to anyone is harmful. It ruins lives.

That doesn't make sense to me. Surely the league can only benefit from potential increased competition in future rights? I don't see why they need to protect Sky and BT from an as yet unrealised competitor. Unless of course they are taking significant backhanders from said media giants.

Chelsea Thread - 2022/23 | Pochettino confirmed as new manager

I am reading today that Chelsea reached agreement with US streaming service Paramount+ for our shirt deal, only for the Prem to block it due to concerns of upsetting Sky and BT. Paramount+ don't have any UK football streaming interests. We are however free to pursue a deal with online casino...

Inter Milan (N) | Champions League Final | Post Match Thread

Congratulations to everyone associated with Manchester City. My MOTM is Ederson, who pulled off some incredible heroics in the last moments of the game. Honourable mention also to John Stones, who for me has been nothing short of a revelation as a CDM this season. Pep is a football genius!

Chelsea Thread - 2022/23 | Pochettino confirmed as new manager

That's the big question. Our new ownership seem to have decided to cut ties with pretty much everything and everyone that have come before, and as such many of us barely recognise our club at this moment. I think that, based upon the strategy the new owners have dictated so far, its going to...

I don't know what the financials look like in relation to how we deal with Lukaku, but from a purely football perspective I think we should steer clear. The guy has an ego comparable to Ronaldo!

Sterling has looked better last couple. Lukaku I'm really unsure about, and not least because he was whining about preferring Inter even when he was with us. I don't think we need that.

I think the squad has far more potential than is evident at this moment.
