    Weird Away Days

OK, so it's not City, but it was the most bizarre game I have ever been to... A few years ago, me and some mates were in Prague for a stag weekend, and had ended up in a locals pub on the Friday night talking to some Sparta Prague fans. They suggested that we go to Sparta's home game the...

BBC - Pick your ultimate Manchester City title-winning XI

Going with 4 at the back, even if it restricts selection from our embarrassment of midfield/attacking riches, so 4-2-3-1: Hart Zabba Vinny Laporte Kolarov Yaya Fernandinho KDB Sterling David Sergio

12 years ago today... the 8-1

Living in the North East, I have a mate who's a Boro season ticket holder with his parents and brother. His brother couldn't make it that day, so I took the spare ticket. I remember in the car he was talking about how crap Boro had been all year and hadn't scored more than 2 goals in a game at...

    City v blackburn 4 -1 ewood park 2000

My late father-in-law was involved with Blackburn Rovers (had done some coaching and scouting), so was able to get two tickets in the home stand. I was under strict instructions to keep quiet and not show my allegiance, otherwise he'd be in trouble. Once we scored, and half the home stand...

    City's oldest living player?

Interesting. The oldest living player is Arthur Smith, played for Bury and Leicester City. Seems to have scored only two goals in his career... a brace against us! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Smith_(footballer,_born_1915)

How would you like the season to be decided?

I honestly can't see how any meaningful outcomes can be decided based on the current League tables. OK, Liverpool would certainly go on to win the league this season, but do we make an exception for them to be awarded a title without winning it outright? And if so, what other current League...

    Newcastle (a) post-match thread

Being the part-timer that I am, this was my first game of the season, and so I'd like to start with an apology to those who traveled up from the NW to see the game (seeing as it's just down the road for me). I don't seem to bring much luck, as I was also there in our "last loss of the season"...

Do you remember the first City game you ever attended.

Beat you by a couple of rounds. Mine was the 80-81 FA Cup 4th round tie versus Norwich, which we won 6-0.

Which moments from our history would you want to retrospectively check using VAR?

Same. Winning there was never easy for us, and to chalk off a "goal of the season" contender was ridiculous.

    Pep Guardiola - 2019/20 Performances

A key difference between Pep and Klopp at yesterday's game. After full time, Klopp was sauntering around patting his players on the back, but Pep was dragging players to one side coaching and coaching and coaching. Clearly not talking abut the penalties to come, but just trying to make each and...

how much do we wind other fans up?

Having lived in the North East for more than 20 years, I've seen a change in the views of the local Geordies (and Mackems, to some extent). WHen I arrived here, it was easy to chat for hours on the shared pain of a big club being completely shite, and most normal fans were truly respectful of...

    Media coverage 2018/19

So... last season, the argument went along these lines: Despite amassing 100 points and breaking multiple records in winning the League, City cannot be considered one of the all time great teams until they have retained the title. This season, the argument seems to be: with City retaining the...

Why we will win the league!

What a thread. And some cracking comments early on. I was certainly a non believer after the Newcastle game, but this thread kept me hoping and dreaming! Particularly like the pessimism/optimism of this comment:

Brighton (A) Post Match thread - Champions!!!

Amazing! I can’t believe we are where we are today. As a Blue in exile in the North East, I don’t get to too many games but the feeling of dejection sitting on the Metro after the Newcastle game, with all the Geordies taking the piss, I really didn’t give us a chance. Bluemoon the next day...

Ederson or Hart. Who gets into the team of the decade?

For me, it has to be Hart. I do think Ederson is the better goalie, clearly so on distribution and commanding his area and perhaps slightly so in shot-stopping. But to vote for Ederson for City team-of-the-decade would be like picking a man-of-the-match who only came on after 75 minutes!

    Media coverage 2018/19

Haha. Maybe that’s it. We gave them such a shafting 2 weeks ago, keeping a clean sheet is a major success for them. Just seen the Times ratings and it’s even worse: 77 to 66!!! What game were these clowns watching?? I admit we were not at our best and think overall 6s & 7s are about right...

    Media coverage 2018/19

Just reading the Guardian report this morning. Other than half the report focusing on the Chelsea goalie petulance, it reads as if Chelsea were the better team. Player ratings for Chelsea total 67, for City 63. How, then, did we have more possession, more shots, the only shots on target, more...
