    Match of The Day 2024/25

Everyone can watch the highlights almost immediately online. So the point of MOTD should be to offer something different. Not saying it's perfect (or close), but highlights only would be pretty pointless IMO.

Rate The Drinks And Food (Prices) At The Etihad

Like others on here, I rarely eat at the ground. But I had kids with me and had forgotten to eat dinner before I came out, so my hand was forced as I was starving by 3.45! The new spicy veggie pastie thing in the ground was OK. An upgrade on the cheese pie (how is that even a thing?), but...

PL Ipswich Town (h) post match thread

I thought you looked decent in parts (and could have had a pen)...but not any real threat on goal and City were on cruise control and would hsve stepped it up if you'd have pulled one back. I think the big questions will be can you score enough goals and will you continue with same style of...

Invincibles? I hate doing this but....

Still annoys me now. Sterling was, on balance, very good for us. But that miss before half time...

    Gary Neville

Thank the Lord that the Arsenal team was around, or there'd have been another title each for united (including Neville) and the scousers (including Carragher).

    Atmosphere 2024/25

Yep. We can ask the club to tweak things to help, and we should continue to do that. However, supporters going to the game should fundamentally ask themselves what is the point of them being there if they sit in silence. I sit in SS218 (not the quietest part of the ground) and yet most fans...

    Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

Agreed on their pen shout. Not sure how that wasn't given if ours was.

    Atmosphere 2024/25

I'm gonna be contrary and say I don't mind it. Just a throwback to him playing at Dortmund (most clubs do it for any scorer in the Bundesliga). It's fine and Haaland clearly likes it (in lieu of him having a proper chant).

Sergio Aguero leaves City after 10 years

Other than the obvious, his most important goal was probably v Scousers in 18/19. And what a finish...ghosting in front of the defender and slamming it in, near post top bins. My random fave is v Burnley at home where he manages to squeeze it in from an insane angle (right footed from right...

    Song/Chant for Ilkay

I've been on the crack pipe for 10 minutes. Manchester tunes for Ilkay to which we all know the tunes and his name fits syllable-wise. 1. Easy one. Sally Cinammon. "Sent to me from heaven, Ilkay Gundogan you're my world." Could even carry on with "Until Ilkay I was never happy..." etc 2. Slide...

    Ilkay Gundogan - Done Deal

I dont think they were his boyhood club. Think he admired their team under Pep in the same way I admired the 88-96 Cruyff teams. I got the Meyba and Kappa shirts and nagged my parents to take me to the Nou Camp when in Spain. But I was still a City fan, not Barca.

Players that have returned to play for City? (not loaned)

I'd completely forgotten that, but apparently he signed a 3 month rolling contact in September 01. Don't think he ever even made the bench, though. The one match in that period where you might have expected him to get a run out was the Notts County league cup game on 9/11 - but I was at that...

That's the one. Finally, the heir to Uwe.

    Ilkay Gundogan - Done Deal

Read it again bud. And cheer up. I didn't say *he* was amazing, I said his second debut was. Completely unexpected return home from a genuinely loved fan favourite, scores 2 on his first game away from home in a 0-3 win. What more do you want?

    Ilkay Gundogan - Done Deal

His 2nd debut was amazing. Just joyful. Also, his first 2 seasons back (08-10) were good. But Mancini didn't fancy him and he just couldn't make the step up once we started bringing players of the ability of Tevez, Silva, Toure, etc.

My dad still has a 'Joe Royle's Blue & White Army' mug if that's any good?

    Ilkay Gundogan - Done Deal

He didnt have much of a playing career, but he is now manager of Eintracht Frankfurt! And his dad was a good striker in 70s and coach of the (in)famous 2002 'Neverkusen' team. I love German football but genuinely have no memory of him signing either. Tbf he seemingly signed under Royle as we...
