Redcafe thread on Xavi Hernandez interview

To be fair, it's not just that, but the fact that peak Barcelona beat them twice in CL finals as well. :)

    Brahim Diaz - 2017/18 Performances

My guess would be the other way round. Pep treated the FA Cup fairly seriously last year while the League Cup has always been for the reserves. I know it's the Semis but we have bigger games coming up after that and it's Bristol and also it's a two legged tie, plenty of room to make it to the final.

    David Silva - official statement

Reading through this thread is not the best option when in work; having a tough time fighting away all my tears! Such heartbreaking but lovely stories shared by all the Blues, which gives me big positivity towards Mateo.

Burnley (h) FA Cup 3rd Round pre-match thread

Wouldn't mind not seeing Otamendi, Fernandinho, Walker and KdB at all in our next two cup games. Do we have enough squad to manage it without them until the Liverpool game is another question though. At least if Kompany can be back for a game, then we can use all of Mangala, Stones, Tosin and...

How many points to win the league?

I had to check as you almost caused me a heart attack but actually it would still be a 14 point advantage over Chelsea in such case. :)

    Gabriel Jesus - 2017/18 performances

This was my first thought as well. He's playing with fire FFS. :D

    EFL Cup 19/20 Dec

Mourinho not including Tuanzebe even on the bench tonight. I have to be honest I liked the look of this kid whenever I watched him playing for them, but I guess he should leave for good as Jose takes that 'one youngster per season' (at best) just too seriously. I like how Pep trimmed the squad...

    Bernardo Silva - 2017/18 performances

He had some errors sure, but I find a criticism a bit OTT still - he scored our only goal and was involved in almost everything we created, oh and most importantly, I thought he really ran himself to the ground again, in which case I'm just more lenient with anyone (same goes for Gabriel Jesus...

    Tosin Adarabioyo - 2017/18 performances

Very good game from the lad again. I still think he will eventually have to move on to get regular gametime but he definitely has a solid future ahead of him if he progresses as well as up until now. Oh and the bit at the end where he shouted happily to Pep was hilarious.

Kevin De Bruyne - 2017/18 performances

Not a bit shout indeed, even if a bit disrespectful to our Kevin. :)

    Yaya Toure - 2017/18 performances

I think all of his cameos when we were already up by a few were very good, it's just that when he starts in a team which anyway has been heavily rotated, then you can immediately sense it. Still, I think he has to start today.

Leicester (a) Carabao Cup QF pre-match thread

Absolutely no way we should play any of our first team performers, apart from maybe Mangala as hopefully Stones and Kompany are nearing full fitness (ok, Kompany for like a game or two at best but even that would be fine for the Christmas fixtures). Shitload of games ahead of us and we won't be...

    Vincent Kompany - 2017/18 performances

If we can get a 3rd CB next summer (or in January) who can become (or is already) as good as Stones and Otamendi, then I wouldn't mind him staying until his contract ends and squeeze out, let's say, 20 games out of him next season.

    Eliaquim Mangala - 2017/18 performances

Great subs indeed and especially the way he was so quick to change after we went up was fun to see. He knew what was coming - well okay, not that it was hard to guess that Mourinho would revert to the good old hoofball. :) But still, the quick sub helped as as they didn't even have the chance to...

    Nicolas Otamendi - 2017/18 performances

I would actually say this was only his 3rd best performance at OT, he loves it there. :)

    Leroy Sane - 2017/18 performances

    Thought he was great.

    Phil Foden - 2017/18 performances

Off topic but it whas a very disappointing execution from Jesus. He had the keeper on toast already and as he went down, he could have easily just lob it past him.

    Brahim Diaz - 2017/18 Performances

He was a bit like a young Messi when he emerged for Barcelona starting out from the right wing, dribbling his way inside (just that Brahim did it inversely). Quite the cameo.
