All of them will start, I think it's a no brainer. Phillips instead of Rodri, Kovacic as... well, Kovacic or Bernardo and Nunes as that sort of second striker what Alvarez does mostly. And I guess Bobb or Alvarez next to him.
Ortega, Gomez, Lewis, Palmer and Mahrez seem like definite starters already as they won't go to the WC. Haaland then I'd say as well as if I see it right, after this game there will be one full week to prepare against Leeds. So we need to find 5 other guys, obviously if few of them go out in...
Seems to be so busy and always running even with the ball that sometimes his control seems a bit clumsy, but then he just runs more and gets the ball back anyway, which in a way is even better as the oppo's defence is not set then. :)
But how does he just keep on running?!
His decision-making and execution was off, then again it's the end of the season and he's played already 50 games, no wonder. What I admired in him yesterday was his relentless work and engine even so late in the game. Whenever he had the chance to intercept or run into space, he did.
Yesterday it was especially frustrating as there were acres of space to go to his left. Of course, if it would have been Foden than maybe Livramento would have also defended accordingly, but I was just thinking for the whole game that Foden would have scored at least already given how he...
It was ridiculous. You could see that from the high camera angle that the pass was on, but it's the kind of pass most wouldn't even see on the pitch, not to mention executing it with perfection.
Then again if he is not and caught Covid and actually has symptoms and stuff then there is only one to blame. But I'm speculating way too much already.
Yes and more mobile and more creative and better at his crossfield passing etc. etc. :)
What I liked however was how their keeper had no choice but to go long, and Stones dealt with it with such ease (of course, being a CB), it came quite handy oftentimes. Also one big fuck-up but that's OK.
Even this thread is a bit hard on him ever since Stones emerged as the first option and we are good people here. :) I can then imagine how other parts of social media look like...
Of course, Fernandinho was hiding a bit, probably related to his current energy levels. But even the simple (I mean simple for Rodri!) passes were off for him and his composure too.
He was knackered in the second half. The vision was still there but the execution was already gone which resulted in some shit passes. And it doesn't exactly set our play when our pivot does that. I hope he somehow gets fully fit for Saturday and then a week's rest.
Good thing is we have 5 subs in Europe, so even in the worst case, Cancelo and Walker could play 45-45 if we don't opt for a young right back (I guess Ake and Zinchenko are definite starters, one of them probs at left back). Rodri hopefully gets through Villa and Watford injury-free, then can be...
