The outbound PCR will be out of date for stadium entry. my advice would be get a lateral flow test at the airport when you land on Friday. that will cover stadium entry and return to the UK. the day 2 test needs to be ordered and paid for so you can put the booking number on the UK passenger...

Worryingly the club email says about passport and ticket booking reference info order to ‘gain access to the fan zone’ makes me fear it will be secure and you’ll be stuck there for the duration.

I hope so. the real worst case would be a secure bubble, where you can’t leave, and no beer. Really hope that's not the case but it is a distinct possibility.

It doesn’t actually say that. it says if you are using the SAME test for both outward and return, then it needs to be taken within 72 hours of your return. if you’re using a separate Portuguese return test (if you’re not on the day trip) then it’s the 3 days before you fly advice.

It’s a big river. the bit in the town by the Port warehouses is the popular bit, but it meanders through Porto. if it is by the river I imagine it will be a bit further away from the town centre, somewhere a bit more remote.
