Premier League Games 19/20/21 October 2024

Quite an enjoyable game to watch, this.

    TV Series

It’s worth keeping with, purely for Oldman and Scott Thomas. There’s a lot of gumf in it too though.

Liam Payne dies at the age of 31

Love that! Fair play to the passenger in the other car, wonder how long they’d debated to themselves whether to say something or not!

    UK steel industry

I know we’ve spoken about it before but electric arc furnaces are capable of producing much higher grade steel they used to. I would have kept the blast furnaces open too though. Good article here about it all - https://edconway.substack.com/p/does-it-really-matter-if-we-cant

    UK steel industry

There’s safeguards that limit the amount of steel imported from China, which they’re going to have to extend given the volume of excess China has produced. We have to import the iron ore and a lot of the coal anyway. We also have an abundance of steel for recycling, which is why moving to...

    General Videogame Thread

After some advice, not a videogame question but a general pc one. My daughter is currently doing a BTEC in games technology and the likelihood is she’ll carry that on to a degree course - it’s either that or an apprenticeship as there’s a few games companies that partner with the college she’s...

    TV Series

Yeah I said the same earlier in the thread. It’s not high art or anything, it’s throwaway tv that’s done increasingly better throughout the series. Mitchell and whoever plays his wife are great in it. I ended up binging it on iPlayer.

    The Labour Government

That’s a bit disingenuous to say that implementing it previously would have been naive to be fair. It’s not the principle of it, it’s the implementation and application of it that’s the issue.

    Hands Off Pep

Not going to happen. Part of me would love to see it though, albeit a few more years down the line!

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

Depends on the argument. It’s not relevant for the APT discussion and to whether loans are included or not for that as ultimately that would have made no difference to Portsmouth. It’s an argument for the validity of PSR in the first place, at least in the context of the primary motivation...

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

Indeed. Was obvious from the start given it didn’t look at the balance sheet and if it had whose ownership models would have been affected…

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

Got you. The Portsmouth one is interesting as that really shows the fallacy of the reasons behind putting in PSR in the first place as they’d have still have passed PSR. Including shareholder loans in APTs wouldn’t have changed their plight either, it was allowing shareholder loans at all rather...

    Electric cars

Can highly recommend the BMW i4. Much prefer it to the Tesla.

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

Yes that’s what I’m assuming too, just wanted to check :)

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

The Portsmouth reference was around the implementation of PSR in the first place wasn’t it, rather than around APTs? Or are you saying that in terms of how much the underlying motivations behind some of the PSR rules had changed? Or is it they’re referring to Portsmouth when they talk about...

    The Labour Government

Current policy is there is no negotiations or discussions to be had around reparations for slavery. It’s people projecting what Lammy might do about a situation that currently doesn’t exist.

    What negotiations?
