    Champions League Final | Inter (N) - Sat 10th June 20:00 | Pre-Match Thread

Very envious of all the blues out in Istanbul, it looks a fantastic atmosphere, enjoy every minute and look out for each other. Heading in to town now. I haven't known a day to drag like this since... last Saturday! It's a final and anything can happen, but Pep and the players are vastly...

    Media thread 2022/23

According to Google the attendance for the Villa v Spurs game he references in the opening paragraph was 40k, not the 50k he claims. To quote Blackadder "well it started badly, it tailed off a little in the middle & the less said about the end the better! But apart from that, excellent!".

Have the nerves kicked in yet?

Exactly the same as me. It's an amazing position to be in, and I'm optimistic, but the occasional thought of not winning crosses my mind and its pretty unbearable. Tomorrow can't come soon enough

Istanbul Pre-match Dinner with Dickov, Bishop & Pearce

If Pearce's only association with City was as a player this wouldn't raise any eyebrows, but he was a disaster as a manager and hasn't had a good word to say about us since. Off topic, but why has David James been on City TV regularly throughout the season as if he's some sort of club legend? I...

    Parade?

Cancelling the parade if we lose? Fuck that. We've won the double and beaten the rags in the FA cup final, creating history along the way. Who knows when another double may come along again. Celebrate each one as if it's the first and the last. Don't slink off in to the summer as if we have...

    Champions League Final | Inter (N) - Sat 10th June 20:00 | Pre-Match Thread

After the game in Madrid I'd been pushing for Foden or Mahrez to come in for Bernardo for the second leg. He's usually the ultimate big game player, but he didn't make much impact in the away game. Then the second leg happened and he turned it on big time. He had a relatively quiet game on...

    Media thread 2022/23

I can't stand Talk Sport, but did see a clip of Townsend where he said "fingers crossed they win it" about the treble. He was on co commentary for the Madrid home game and was cheering City on when the goals went in, nice to see. Would much rather have him on than Ferdinand etc on BT.

    Champions League Final | Inter (N) - Sat 10th June 20:00 | Pre-Match Thread

Agreed. I want Pep to pick that team and give the players the confidence to go out and show they are the best team in Europe. They've earned the right. Looking at Inter's recent form, they really don't concede many goals. I can see this being an attritional battle and we may well need Mahrez...

    United (N) | FA Cup Final | Post-Match Thread

I'm not a Jenas fan, but have to give him credit for calling out every single dodgy decision that went united's way yesterday. A lot of people watching will have ignored it, but it might have just made a few people think, why it is that they always get a helping hand (excuse the pun) from officials.

    United (N) | FA Cup Final | Post-Match Thread

I'm sure this has been covered, but I was busy getting pissed. Schmeichel repeated the lie that he hated playing for City against United.... The media might never call him out on it, but this tells a different story

    United (N) | FA Cup Final | Post-Match Thread

I was never worried about the rags, I was worried about the officials... As it turns out rightly so. But, as Pep says, when we win we have to be perfect and we were. Tickets to the Gun(dogan) show! Brilliant performance City. Enjoy the double celebrations blues. Fingers crossed for next week!

    FA Cup Final | United (N) - Sat 3rd June 15:00 | Pre-Match Thread

Spot on. As Pep says, when we win its because we have to be perfect. When was the last time we got a controversial decision in our favour against the rags? When were we last awarded against them?! We need the players to keep their composure and play our normal game, give the ref no excuses and...

    FA Cup Final | United (N) - Sat 3rd June 15:00 | Pre-Match Thread

If we win the narrative will be that our dominance is bad for English football and made it uncompetitive. If we lose, the narrative will be that the rags are back and could have a better season than us as they'll have won two trophies. Ronay and co will copy and paste the same myths and lies...

    FA Cup Final | United (N) - Sat 3rd June 15:00 | Pre-Match Thread

I surprised myself by how calm I was before the Madrid game. Maybe home advantage and the fact they hadn't particularly impressed in the first leg when they were at home, but I just felt if City played to our full potential we'd have too much for them. I do feel the same RE the united match...

    FA Cup Final | United (N) - Sat 3rd June 15:00 | Pre-Match Thread

Exactly. I think that's why he sometimes doesn't make substitutions when we are losing, so the players are only reliant on themselves to fix the situation and they all learn from it. As you say, Pep will be keeping them grounded and with his experience of winning multiple trophies during one...

    FA Cup Final | United (N) - Sat 3rd June 15:00 | Pre-Match Thread

I always find this strange. It's meant to be the showpiece stadium and the pitch is never up to the same level as top Premier league grounds.

    FA Cup Final | United (N) - Sat 3rd June 15:00 | Pre-Match Thread

Great post. We've had some brilliant results against them in recent times (the 6-3 this season for one), but we missed the chance to beat them at home to win the league, despite being 2-0 up at half time! We can't let this chance pass us by, especially when we have the chance to make history!

    FA Cup Final | United (N) - Sat 3rd June 15:00 | Pre-Match Thread

Unfortunately he didn't in the derby at old Trafford a few months ago. It was a similar performance to away at Liverpool, where he looked reluctant to attack the fullback. Grealish changed the game when he came on as he made things happen down that side. Foden is an unbelievable talent and more...

    United Thread - 2022/23

I've seen more united shirts out and about over this weekend than I have in years, they've all come out of the woodwork it would seem. Hopefully they'll be crawling back there again after the FA cup final.

    FA Cup Final | United (N) - Sat 3rd June 15:00 | Pre-Match Thread

I rewatched the old Trafford Derby from earlier this season over the weekend (too much time on my hands). Stones didn't play and we weren't playing with anyone in the midfield role he started to take up a bit later in the season. The first half was as cagey as I remember, with chances only...
