    The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Don't tell Them You're Sane is my favourite Jam track and without checking I think it was written by Bruce Foxton. His base playing often carried Paul Weller IMO but he could write a decent song or two I have to say.

Sir Michael Parkinson dies aged 88

Did a number of series here in OZ for both ABC and Channel 10 when they were both watchable and had the ability to keep one engrossed in discussion he would have with people of all persuasion , ego and demeanour, They are still repeated last at night mind you however given the dross shown these...

The Album Review Club - Week #147 - (page 1942) - Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan

The first possible clarkie already. I do agree however a great song in fact and IMO picked up the Eagles from his boot straps. This list is quite varied and and a number of them new to me and two of those already looking like top ten selections but solid throughout with few weaknesses covering...

No doubting the brilliance of PF but it has to be the Boxer for me in this battle of the heavyweight songs.

    The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

If someone picked All there is it would get my vote to go all the way , that is punk rock at its best IMO , along with much of Beefeater is just timeless material that never loses its shine , the Washington DC scene in the 80's rarely gets the credit it deserves outside the US.

    The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Much prefer the original version performed by the Rooftop Singers of ' Walk Right In " renown for those old farts like me that go back that far but although DP is somewhat down my pecking order of Beatles favourites in fact on the White Album itself its an easy choice IMO.

Cheers BH I thought that each individual perhaps for good reason may not with them to be revealed but I don't read rules that well so you may have already covered this (LOL).

    The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Out of interest Fog now that three of yours are no longer so to speak are you willing to reveal them you reveal them to a wider audience as I was interested if I voted for all three or didn't cast a vote as such etc. if you prefer to keep it from the forum as such I would appreciate a PM but...

    The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Personally I would have it over a high proportion of the picks so far a great choice IMO including DM. Shame it won't go through but thems the breaks.

The Album Review Club - Week #147 - (page 1942) - Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan

My mother said to me at an early age you will grow to appreciate his real talent and the hype will take care of itself as you get older. She was pretty decent on the ivories but preferred classical and found his work difficult to do some justice to and its easy to see why. I am now what most...

The Album Review Club - Week #147 - (page 1942) - Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan

Master of the keyboards threespires welcome aboard. I can't think of too many for what he does that do it better. Self taught and one of the most influential way beyond the piano. At some stage every singer wanted him on the keyboards as they struck a chord or two (LOL).

Brilliant selection , played this many times , not sure I enjoy it as much as you but I enjoy it immensely. The Killer continues to kill as he thrills with chills. 8/10.

I rate VP above BLT for mood , sound , variety and musicianship to mention some of its superior characteristics. Great selection and my favourite song selection to date.

    RIP Tony Bennett

I don't feel sad I feel honoured to have been alive while the last of the great crooners joins the likes of Harry Lillis and Francis Albert to take stage once again in the eternal songbook. Days of celebration of a life well lived ensue and he will be treasured for always by those that were...

    The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

I am in the same camp for sure as are many of my friends. Mean you say try Thom Yorke is to alternative rock as Bob Seger is to rock. I guess we have a similar mind set and ear that goes beyond artist and genre and I haven't found a band / artist you like or dislike or overrate or underrate...

    The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Was he really singing about himself in this song. I fail to get the sincerity in much of their music and for me its too much about Thom and I don't know why he wasn't a solo artist of sorts from the outset but I do understand why from his perspective. I did buy their first 3 releases but...
