    Liverpool (N) | Community Shield | Post-Match

No injuries, minutes into the legs to finish a short pre-season, and I thought we were the better team until the penalty. End result isn't great, but looking at the bigger picture, a useful day heading into the season. Think we'd all take a loss here over a loss at West Ham.

Match Thread | Liverpool vs Man City (30/07/22) - Community Shield

Until the penalty we were clearly the better team. That seems to have knocked the desire out of us - but better than expected performance for me given the short pre-season.

"Brilliant from Nunez" - what, to mess up the header so badly it went into Dias' arm? Strange comment.

Don't like the rule, but its always a penalty.

May do now, disallow the goal and give us a penalty instead.

"He may have touched the ball but at first glance he didn't so it would've been a penalty". What.

Standard Liverpool then. Usually about surviving the first 20 minutes in each half against them, and then taking over.

Forgot this started at 5 and turned on at 5:30 - have barely seen Liverpool touch the ball.

    Liverpool (N) - Community Shield - Sat 30th July, 17:00 | Pre-Match Thread

Thought we may start with Alvarez for the work rate up top, usually Jesus doing that role against Liverpool. Should be a good match though, strong line ups for both sides - we're probably a bit behind in terms of being up to match fitness and speed, but still fancy us to get a win. Main goal...

Raheem Sterling | Arsenal Player (on loan)

Got his first goal in a Chelsea shirt today pre-season. Couldn't resist looking it up to see how it was - the most comically Sterlingesque goal, gave me a smile at least.

Pre season games compared to other clubs

It does often feel we are off the pace a bit in the first few games compared to others. I expect we'll have a rough time against Liverpool in the community shield given where both teams will be at in the pre-season. But we then often have the best mid-season of any team, and usually win the...

    Nathan Ake

Ake is an ideal player for us at 4th choice IMO - a good PL proven player, who's also now proved himself in our team last season, has the pace and flexibility to cover LB in a pinch, home grown, decent enough on the ball. This sale only makes sense if Ake himself has asked to leave and has...

Raheem Sterling | Joins Chelsea for £50m

Similar to the Jesus deal, feels like a deal that makes sense all round for everyone involved, even if I'm sad to see him go. The reality is we've done well if we get near £100m for a couple of players who'd be leaving for free next season and don't want to be here. Gives us the chance to...

    Gabriel Jesus joins Arsenal

Would've loved to keep him at City - he's been a fantastic signing for us. But fully understand his desire to go and play week in week out as the main man at a club. Hard to argue with the fee for a player with 1 year left either. Overall a transfer that makes sense on both ends.

Gabriel Jesus | Joins Arsenal for £45m

Sad to see him go, always enjoyed watching him play and was always happy to see him in the starting line up. He does so much more for the team than just score goals - I think he'll be a great signing for Arsenal. From our point of view he would clearly have reduced game time next season given...

Kalvin Phillips | Joins City on a 6-year deal

In the position he plays there aren't exactly exciting signings, but an English international, heading into his peak years, with proven PL pedigree, for a reasonable transfer fee (given the market and his nationality) - it's a good signing on paper. Just need to see how fans of other clubs have...

    16 | Rodri - 2021/22 Performances

Him or KdB for POTS for me. Most consistent performers. Others like Bernardo/Cancelo had runs of great form, but not quite as consistent.
