Manchester drinking, nightlife and chasing girls

Thankfully a couple of people who claim to have the necessary loyalty points offered to help out when I posted on the ticket forum a few weeks back. That's the Manchester hospitality for you! Failing that where there's a will there's a way, last resort I'll walk around begging for a ticket even...

Manchester drinking, nightlife and chasing girls

Sorry that didn't make any sense the way I wrote it. 10 nights in the UK, 4 in Manchester is the tentative plan at this stage. Had sworn to myself I'd try to cut down the spending on City travel for a while, but Real Madrid home and Chelsea away back to back was too much to resist, even if I'll...

Manchester drinking, nightlife and chasing girls

Thanks for all the advice guys. I've lived pretty much my whole life right near Fremantle. Love the place but the nightlife there these days is a cure for the will to live! Keen to avoid the Aussie pubs, kinda defeats the purpose of going out in Manchester and wasn't a fan when I was dragged...

    Legends Stadium and Club Tour

I think I'm sold, will book on my next pay day, thanks folks. How long do the tours take btw?

    Legends Stadium and Club Tour

Just wondering if anyone has done one of these tours, and whether you'd recommend it? I'm strongly considering it on my next visit in November, but it's obviously a fair amount of money so keen to hear what others have thought of this tour. (didn't know what forum to put this in btw so hoping...

Manchester drinking, nightlife and chasing girls

I'm coming to Manchester in just over a month to see 3 City games. Spent plenty of time in Manchester in recent years but this will be my first visit as a single man. Going to be shameless and admit any evening time I'm not spending watching City I'm keen to hit the bars and nightclubs and try...

What's the best Football Management game ever?

Absolutely! Kinkladze led my City team to glory on many occasions!

    Away day hospitality packages??

Thanks heaps for that! I've already got a PM from someone offering to get me a ticket with their points, but if for some reason that falls through I'll definitely be in touch if that's cool. Good suggestion thetimeisup, unfortunately it's my tendency to stick with the poor choice I made as a...

    Away day hospitality packages??

Excuse the "I'm clearly a stupid foreigner who hasn't been to a game for more than a year" question, but does City not do away hospitality packages any more? When I called the club they directed me to the Thomas Cook website but that doesn't seem to have anything available for away games...

United thread 2012/13 (inc merged IPO thread)

Market prediction for the day; a fairly strong showing throughout before dropping 8 points in the blink of an eye towards the end.

    Anti-Beckham songs?

The Weaver one is a ripsnorter! Heard other versions of that including the Kewell one but Weaver has to be the winner! As for people having a problem with singing anything anti him ... each to their own.

    Bluemoon beer

Have seen it on tap a few times on my travels and always feel the need to have one just because of the name, even though it's not my kind of beer at all.

    Anti-Beckham songs?

This will come across as stupid question, but Beckham's stint at the rags was well before I was able to go to City games (being a kid living on the other side of the world) and there was no youtube back then. Anyhow I'm going to see LA Galaxy v Chivas USA next month, with the Chivas supporters...

    "Worth Every Penny"

Brilliant stuff Matt! I'd planned on going over for the end of the season but having given up hope of us winning it weeks earlier, there was no way work would accept me changing my mind again at that short notice! Anyhow very well deserved, hope the financial strain isn't too severe or long lasting!

The "I was wrong about Mancini" thread

For the record I never at any given time in his tenure have wanted him sacked, just feared that time would prove he wasn't the right man for the job. More than happy to admit I was wrong but don't regret anything I said or felt, I know I'm not the only City fan with a defeatist outlook! And...

The "I was wrong about Mancini" thread

I doubted him, I feared he wasn't the right man to take us where we hoped to get to, and no doubt in many people's eyes I'm less of a supporter because of it. I was wrong. Anyone else willing to own up?

    Kompany was injured yesterday...

Fucking epic, how thankful we should all be we signed this guy! You get the feeling there were a number of players carrying injuries or severe fatigue, well beyond the usual to be expected at the end of a season. Makes the 6 wins in a row to finish the campaign even more impressive.

Any matches or moments that stand out besides the obvious?

Fair play to you for calling that! At the pub with the City supporters club in my home town one guy said "that point could win us the title". I remember thinking "you're kidding yourself" - how wrong I was! Speaking of massive points, Liverpool away when Hart played a blinder stands out to me...

    Blackburn Away 2000

The vision of the fans outside the ground that day is up there with some of my best childhood city memories.
