On the 'No transfers' subject, very limited club transfer funds, having to rely on the £85 million bargain buy that is Nunez (apologies if already posted)

Lowest point in supporting City since the 2008 takeover

From a pure performance viewpoint, the 3:0 home defeat against Forest in the FA Cup was really, really shit. On the day I didn't think too much of those Zabaleta and Kompany fellas.....(how wrong can you be!) All relative I guess, as for years we never got into a Semi-Final (we seemed to have a...

    Blackburn Rovers v City

Got mine from a Charlton fan I used to know (yes seriously ,I knew one!!) Not sure how he got one? The bloke could be quite a racist, homophobic, sexist idiot after a few beers(it comes out doesn't it!) Was very grateful for the ticket though!! (not that it excuses such bigotry!). Sitting in the...

    Sevilla (H) - Wed 2nd Nov, 20:00 | Pre-Match Thread

On my very boring drive home from work today ,this team was the one I picked in my head. In a game of no real pressure against pretty mediocre opponents, this should be more than enough to win. A good mix of youngsters and players who could do with more game time. Obviously wouldn't pick that...

    Memory is going...!

Just checked the other Ipswich game that was called off. Worthington Cup (League Cup) Quarter Final in 2000, 1:1 at the time. Looking at the photos it looks a little 'damp.

    Memory is going...!

The season after the Kippax terrace came down, was there not temporary uncovered seating there for at least some of that season? 'Nicky Sumerbee playing couldn't have happened', does make sense though, as though he was on the pitch he often didn't really play did he! (frustrating wasn't he!)...

    Ref Watch

Friend of mine did the course and used to do local games. Told me he hated doing the kids games because of the abuse from family members as you mention above, during and after games. He also said 10 year old lads were scared to make mistakes to let down their dads in certain games. Surprisingly...

    Lowest away following.

City had pretty good support that day from memory, I was in the seats. Didn't a load of Neanderthal type Chelsea fans who'd had an early kick off (?)try to get in (they seemed to have a lot of early kick offs in the 80s to supposedly lessen the likelihood of trouble!). Most of our games at...

    Lowest away following.

Mid 80s,midweek away at Upton Park, meaningless end of season game for us. Living in London at the time so I went along, think we lost 1:0. A very forgetable game and very 'spacious' away section ..very different to when we got relegated there on the last day (the following season I believe)

What was the terrace fashion on the Kippax in the 1980s?

I remember seeing a few people 'dressed as bus drivers' going through the Kippax turnstiles on a Saturday afternoon. Obviously drivers who had finished their early shifts, and one definitely had their mornings 'takings' in that box/safe/cash register thing! (dropping it at the depot on the way...

    Penalty Taker

Ray Stewart, great penalty taker, he just seemed to 'twat it' and it was in the net. Like most fans, I kind of expect my team to miss and the other seem to score them. Sergio was a phenomenal goalscorer, but he missed a few over the years. As others have said ,Ya Ya and Mario always inspired...

How many times you been Anfield and not seen us win?

Also only been once myself, first away game 86/87 season when we got a very respectable goalless draw. The thing I remember most was the City fans singing 'what the fucking hell is that' when the FA Cup and the League trophies were paraded before the game, (as they had done the double the...

That 98/99 season was pretty unforgettable for many reasons wasn't it! There were some great memories, the Gillingham game will proba

    Arsenal Thread - 2022/23

Quite amusing really , (assuming they are just having a bit of a laugh!? )Having said that it's not really any worse than most of the shite they play on Radio 1 these days anyway!

    Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

Whilst agreeing that we could have a few newer songs, we should mix the old with the new (much like at a good gig). Some of the old ones i feel definitely shouldn't be discarded . As one of those who sang 'We never win at home etc..', when it was actually not far off the truth, this is one of...

    Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

Listened on the City website, atmosphere sounded very good at times, especially in the first half. The Poznan in the 2nd half also sounded impressive! (Andy Morrison was co commentating, who I love listening to for his enthusiasm and obvious affection for City, and I'm sure he wanted to join...
