    Declan Rice

You may be right city may have already moved on by that point

    Declan Rice

Why wouldn’t they- they probably started conversations with both at same time. It’s worth understanding the situation on both sides- if he prefers arsenal that doesn’t mean he may not still end up at us as arsenal may not meet their demands. Likewise we would need to know what west hams demands...

    Declan Rice

Just putting together the fact that most journalists are leading today with rice prefers arsenal. We’ve heard we are interested from people on here and other journalists. A bid was supposed to be imminent but hasn’t arrived West Ham side again according to West Ham journalists and city...

    Declan Rice

It sounds as simple as city wanted him- engaged with West Ham for negotiations while also engaging with rice team- were confident they could do the deal with West Ham but found there wasn’t the keenness on the rice side for the deal, as he prefers arsenal and as such city have cooled interest...

    Declan Rice

Plus the fact it’s paid over 2 years- arsenal were doing 4 years

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

I think that’s more cuz they are losing both xhaka and partey and could be left with just Jorginho

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

They actually have a lot of similarities- both have tremendous ball retention abilities, both love a half turn and have eyes in the back of their heads. The main difference is kovacic has more physicality- running power and strength whereas gundogan has more direct threat in and around the box...

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Yeh apparently there deal is in effect 3 years (2 with option on 3rd)- we were only offering 2 (1+ option on second year). Tbh for his age I’m not sure a 3 year contract would have been ideal long term but if he had another season like this year next year then it would have justified it in the...

    16 | Rodri - 2022/23 Performances

Ballon d’or - 67 appearances accords a treble win and international trophy. Scoring the winner in the UCL final. Our Sergio busquets. The guy is a monster and deserves to be right up there in contention. He’s citys most important player- without him we’d have been stuffed

    Kyle Walker

Him, Kimmich and rice are the only ones I can think of in Europe who have played at a high level in both defence and holding midfield!

    Kyle Walker

100%. This transfer would just re-affirm that. Gvardiol is a must then plus I like the idea of a de Jong or a rice who have played centre half and can step in next to Rodri in midfield as well. Gives u the option of a centre half going in or a rb. We’ve done both this year

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

I think the walker one makes the Gvardiol transfer make even more sense now- this system is here to stay. Full backs may be bought to offer diversity but the priority is to have top class defenders who can function in this current system. I’m all for it. I also think it makes sense to get rice...

110%- much better than they had this year!

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

They badly need midfielders more- they have two lbs and gabby and nketiah. In that dm position they are losing xhaka and arteta doesn’t seem convinced on partey. Jorginho not enough

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

I think he has played both sides though in the past

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

I didn’t realise olise got 11 asssists in the league this year! Not bad for a 21yr old. Always liked watching him play and don’t think there are many better in 1 v 1 s against full backs- strong, quick and great feat.

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Do we need legs in midfield? we’ve just won a treble on a control based style of play not a high intensity one. A lack of legs has hardly prohibited Rodri and gundo from being the best midfielders in the country

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

I think this would get the deal done- only issue is doesn’t sound like Phillips has any interest in going- so basically can’t see this deal being done
