Sporting CP (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

If you can’t defend you can’t win. At the moment we just can’t defend. We look frightened and back off. We don’t tackle. Today we totally lacked any leadership and hung out a young lad to dry time after time. The only fix will be getting Dias, Stones and Ake back in full working order. Until...

Sporting CP (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Too many missed opportunities in the first half are at the root of the problem tonight. We should have been out of sight by the half hour. Having said that we have a big problem at the back. There is a definite lack of leadership at the back and I suspect Akanji is nowhere near fit. Hopefully...

Was always going to be difficult tonight given our injuries. On the positive side our youngsters look bloody promising. Mature beyond their time. Lots of positives out there.

    Southampton (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Seems to me too many people have been fucking spoiled by the success we’ve had since the takeover. Teams go through phases and cycles and it’s utterly ridiculous to expect excellence and non stop entertainment from them all the time. Pissing and moaning about Rodri and KdB missing is pointless...

    Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

If Pep ever left City to manage England it would guarantee a total boycott of international football from me. I would hate the FA even more than I do presently.

Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

Rodri is a big loss but those giving up the league because of this are bonkers. We are not a one man team. We are arguably the best team in the world. We can and will win without him. Have some fucking faith!!

Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

That’s old school. It used to be advisable not to operate for 6 weeks post ACL rupture but there have been plenty of publications embracing acute repair and rehabilitation as removing blood from the knee has a beneficial effect. If he has ruptured the ligament he will have surgery soon.

It hurts me to say but I must commend the BBC for their piece today highlighting what a bunch of time wasting shithouses the arse really are. No surprise with such a shithouse manager who as a footballer was also a massive shithouse himself. Shit club and shit fans to boot!

Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

It’s not exactly rocket science. The more games you play the more the likely hood of getting any sort of injury, just as much as you’re more likely to score or concede goals. It’s a numbers game. The most important factors in injury prevention fitness and proprioreceptive conditioning which is...

Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

Unfortunately there really is no such thing as a sprain where the ACL is concerned. If it is partially injured it becomes stretched and does not recover its original shape, it undergoes a process called plastic deformation. It therefore remains slack and allows extra movement which if sufficient...

Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

Your last sentence is correct. ACL injury at elite level means surgery. Even in an incomplete injury the ligament is stretched and is extremely unlikely to recover normal function. Any further injury can then result in meniscus damage so not worth taking the risk.

Can’t see him going and cashing in at his age He’s still playing at top level in the best club in the world Maybe in 4-5 yrs.. On a separate note the PL need to wake the fuck up and smell the coffee. FFP is making this league an easy target for Saudi clubs. We stand to lose our most talented...
