Priti Vacant has a plan, a deal with migrants plan.

This one made me laugh as it reminded me of the Brexiteer argument on here about Brexit not being about denying people access, it was actually being about letting in more non-EU nationals... "MG420 We will resist all attempts to introduce a 'barrier round Europe' shutting out non-Europeans or...

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

I I don’t think anyone is suggesting that covid and the energy crisis aren’t having an impact on the economy, but if you think that brexit isn’t also having a detrimental effect, you’re delusional.

Chelsea-Liverpool, United-Leeds, Brighton-Palace all off, rest of the games on (pg 128)

They’ve made a sensible decision based on this wild idea that life, and sport, can go on respectfully. Unlike the fuckwits at the FA.

Spurs (H) - Postponed due to the passing of the Queen (pg67)

Hope the games go ahead with minutes silence etc, but fair enough and hardly the end of the world if they don't. I would say though that I don't really get why not playing is a mark of respect. Everyone else is still at work today (or most of us anyway), not sure why sportspeople should be any...

Looking forward to seeing the new defenders, although was hoping for an Alvarez start.

Yep, the true measure of quality of life in one of the world's richest countries is whether or not more people have functioning radiators than they did 60 years ago.

Priti Vacant has a plan, a deal with migrants plan.

It always baffles me that in spite of the comparatively miniscule numbers of asylum seekers we currently take in, people assume that if we allowed applications from abroad, millions and millions of people would suddenly decide that Britain is actually the place they want to be.

    The Conservative Party

Of all the recent Tory PM's, she seems the one who is most likely a puppet of her paymasters, so it really wouldn't surprise me at all if the attacks on the BBC become significantly harsher.

Fair play to Maitlis for calling it out. I wasn't actually aware of Robbie Gibb, nor his background, but seems bonkers that he can be in his current role given his past. Hopefully the relationship between media and the government might get focused on a bit more after her lecture, although I...

    Crystal Palace (H) - Sat 27th Aug 15:00 | Pre-Match Thread

Obviously we have more than enough to blow Palace away - you just fear that Sunday will be a template for how we can be got at in the new system. That said, it was a match where a few had off days, and we still should've won so fingers crossed it was a kick up the arse and back to winning ways...

    2 | Kyle Walker - 2022/23 Performances

Not great from him yesterday - the inverted fullback thing clearly doesn't work for him when up against someone playing with the pace, power and intensity of Saint Maximin, but hopefully that's a lesson learned. Think he probably knew he'd not covered himself with glory. The decision not to...

    Keir Starmer

Whilst I agree that energy use needs to reduce, or come from more sustainable sources, it isn't increased use that's caused this crisis at all. It's blatant profiteering by energy companies.

    Keir Starmer

Thought he was pretty good on Radio 4 this morning. Refreshing to hear concrete proposals, and even more refreshing to hear a politician who at least sounds like he knows what he's talking about.
