    Middle East Conflict

Has much information been released on the current situation in Israel itself? Are there internal protests taking place? What are relations like between different factions? Not something I have seen reported.

    Atmosphere - 2023/24

Not the best today but not the worst either. Had some great atmospheres in this fixture in recent years but not today and the 12:30 kick off didn't help. Have to agree with the comments in relation to Pep. Guy is a genius as a manager but a bit out of touch with what is happening in the...

    The cool cats

The best time going to City, coincides with the best period for music, the best time to go clubbing, and also when pubs were at their best. More importantly it always coincides with your youth.

    Running thread

I suffered with this a year or two ago. I did a number of calf type exercises and fortunately this cured the problem. Might be worth having a look for an exercise programme to see if it makes a difference online.

    Running thread

Wimborne 10 miler today. Posted before but had to drop out of two prep races for this due to a chest infection/picking up a rescue dog and this is my first ‘proper’ race for a year due to injuries and taking time to build myself back up. Forgot how tough racing was and about 4K in was thinking...

    Injuries - 2023/24 | Ederson cleared to return to training (p 146)

Hopefully Haaland will be fine and bar KDB and Stones none of the injured make our first eleven. Pep likes a small squad and every year we border on a crisis and manage to come through.

    Peter Reid's programme notes

Are you sure? Im convinced he played against Denmark?

    Luton Away

Yes exactly and then we can all watch footy in identikit stadiums, same teams, same venues, making venture capitalists plenty of money and football even more corporate.

    Peter Reid's programme notes

    Was it Brian Laudrup?

    Peter Reid's programme notes

Yes totally. It was a massive ask of Curle playing up against such a skilful player as Laudrup when he had so little international experience. With White I honestly cannot remember if he played down the middle or out wide. He did miss a couple of chances but without his skillset (pace) there...

Are there any bona fide world class players in a bottom 10 PL team right now?

I can see both viewpoints here and fully understand what you are saying. But I do think when you consider whether a players/sportsmen is performing to the highest level showing those attributes against the best players on the biggest stages is a pretty important measurement. It would be...

    Peter Reid's programme notes

We laugh but was he not at one point going to sign for Sheff United? As for Maradona, not sure he would have displaced Jim Tolmie at the time.

    Peter Reid's programme notes

Yes he was definitely, or considered at the time, a confidence player. I can remember him getting a bit of stick by the crowd as his play did fluctuate from being deadly in front of goal, pinpoint accurate low crosses to missing sitters and overhitting crosses. Still one of my favourites...

    Peter Reid's programme notes

Yes it felt huge at the time. I was 16 and he was pretty much the first City player I had seen wearing the England shirt after Keith Curle, but it felt different, with him coming through the academy, when he played. Yes Curle was a City player then. But he got chucked in at fullback against...

    Peter Reid's programme notes

I thought he was pretty unlucky from memory. He missed a couple of chances but one was a great save by the keeper. Pretty sure Alan Shearer and Nigel Clough also made their debuts? I think that is a bit of an urban myth about him leaving shortly after.Pretty sure he played a full, successful...

    Luton Away

But the problem is if we place minimum capacities on stadiums, to get promoted, in Luton's instance they would be denied a place in the top flight they achieved on sporting merit. With Luton were talking about a club who 9 years ago were in the conference, 5 years ago in the second division to...

    Luton Away

It is a small allocation but success should be based on sporting merit not dictated by how big your ground is. Luton being in the Premiership is an incredible story and football is all the better for it.

Insulation and condensation saves the planet!

Yes its massively important to ventilate your home for your own health and wellbeing. We need fresh air to live healthily and ventilation stops issues such as dust mites and helps prevent allergies. Additionally it will help prevent the risks of condensation and mould growth, which again as well...
