    Ilkay Gundogan - Done Deal

We have just loaned him out for 18 mths whether he was one of the best fullbacks in the world or not and not been able to sell him during that time and watched the value of the asset depreciate. If he stays we also have to pay his wages. It’s called a pragmatic approach. Like when we sold Tevez...

    Ilkay Gundogan - Done Deal

And how many clubs are bidding 40 million plus for this player? It might never happen but the arrangement would solve a problem for both clubs.

Yes it’s all about the brand they rarely win anything. There transfer philosophy has totally changed since the Beckham days. Most of the players become brands by association with the brand of Real Madrid.

Third party ticket sites and City (dodgy site ticket claims - p32)

I think you might have missed the main thrust of my post, but yes I agree he won’t be here to help the fans.

You never noticed him? He had a great game, particularly first half against us. I am not saying he is good enough currently for us but he definitely stood out that day.

Third party ticket sites and City (dodgy site ticket claims - p32)

I think the compliance officers primary role will be to ‘protect’ fans from being ripped off by third party agencies and allow fans instead to be ripped off by City and their commercial partners.

10 miler last night and signed up for the Frome Half Marathon on Sunday. It was still warm but a continuous drizzle, could not have been better running conditions.

Joao Cancelo | Al Hilal Player

That is the point, they cannot just ‘get away with it’. They will have to sell players, free up wages to register them. E.g abide by the rules.

They don’t get away with it that is why they can’t register him.

No I get that, same as running along a beach promenade. Great once but then without any descent/ascent, same view it’s pretty soul destroying. I did a race along a now disused railway line, it was torturous for about 6k where all I could see was a straight path and bushes either side.

Great message and great player. Hopefully he gets a clear run, without injuries, and becomes the best player he can be.

Brilliant mate!! You must be over the moon. It’s a fantastic feeling when you push the envelope a little further.

Cheers Gaz. Also I have done my usual trick of never following a training plan and just running when I feel like it, and then next thing you know it’s 9 weeks away. Still hopefully will enjoy both of them, not beat myself up about times and use both runs as building blocks for next year...

Back in the swing of things this weekend. 12k last night which included a break to help a bloke, who had just left the pub, and had fell which left a bloody gash above his eye and 26k trail run today. Seemed to be plagued by niggles and not getting a good run at Marathon training. Registered...

Match Thread | Man City vs. Man Utd FA Community Shield (10/08/24)

Great half from Bobb, carry’s on playing like this and we will sell him to Chelsea.

    Value of old books.

Last time I drove past it was all boarded up. Beautiful building as well, probably the grandest, along with the town hall, but now left to wrack and ruin.

Joao Cancelo | Al Hilal Player

How do you think his friends will react to him being treated like that? What would it do to the spirit and team morale in the camp? How often do clubs with a fractured dressing room win trophies? Why do clubs who are successful always talk about the atmosphere in the dressing room? Might...

    Alvarez replacement thread

An out and out striker would be a pointless signing as no one of any note would turn up to play second fiddle to Haaland so ideally we would require someone who can play a number of positions. It’s genuinely difficult to think who can fill the void so I’m not really advocating these players but...

    19 | Julian Alvarez - 2023/24

Massive profit, two years great service, always gave 100 percent, crucial goals, assists, filled in a number of positions. Great servant for the club and he has secured a great move. Can only wish him every success in the world.
