Match Thread | Man City vs. Newcastle (16/03/24)

How tf wasn't that a foul on Doku?

    Newcastle United (H) - Sat 16th March, 17:30 | FA Cup | Pre-Match Thread

There’s a lot of pace in that Newcastle side. I can't shake the feeling that tonight will be a lot harrier than expected. I like the line-up, though.

    Jamal Musiala

Won the most duels(12!), most dribbles(9), created the most chances(6). Darmstadt is shit, but he's undoubtedly impressive.

    Newcastle United (H) - Sat 16th March, 17:30 | FA Cup | Pre-Match Thread

I knew we’d be big favourites to qualify, but Newcastle at 7.8 seems way over the top. I can see it being pretty close if they line up with Miley, Guimaaraes, Willock, Gordon, Isak, and Almiron.

Houghton is such a natural in those clips of her coaching the City girls youth team.

Champions League - QF: Real Madrid, SF: Arsenal/Bayern, (H) for 2nd legs

We've owned them for a decade, but I'd be fine with anyone except Arsenal.

    11 | Jeremy Doku - 2023/24

I think he works harder than people give him credit for, but I agree even before the potential penalty, I was screaming for him to go and head the ball.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2023/24

    Fair enough.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2023/24

Walker is a piece of shit off the pitch, but my criticism is solely down to his performances on the pitch, which have been a mile off where they should be. I've praised Walker in the past, but if he's not locking down his side of the pitch while giving us nothing from an attacking POV, I find it...

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2023/24

I'm the 'same' with Walker THIS season because he's been crap. Haaland less so, but I've always maintained he's not a good long-term fit for us stylistically. Again, that's MY OPINION.

    17 | Kevin De Bruyne - 2023/24

I agree with this. I even mentioned upon his return how slim he looked. I remember seeing him walk back even in the first half yesterday when Liverpool was countering, and he was extremely close to the ball.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2023/24

The guy wasn't even making runs. He was shockingly lethargic.

    31 | Ederson - 2023/24

    Fuck sake.

    5 | John Stones - 2023/24

Glad I'm not alone in this. I'm kind of surprised at all the praise for him. I thought he was poor on the ball.

    17 | Kevin De Bruyne - 2023/24

    Spot on.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2023/24

When we did enter the box, he wasn't even there.
  18. T

    2 | Kyle Walker - 2023/24

Even after letting the match sink in, I maintain he wasn't that bad. That's just my opinion, and I'm FAR from an Alvarez 'defender'.
  19. T

    2 | Kyle Walker - 2023/24

I'm the only one defending Alvarez tonight. Doku/Akanji on other nights. I just can't rate Walker and am not sure how anyone could given his performances this season.
