What are you listening to.................RIGHT NOW!!!

Telegraph Road in particular, but Dire Straits in general. Possibly some Alan Parsons Project next.

    Community Shield | Post-Match Thread

His penalty shoot-out comm was utterly embarrasing. Said Bernie's pen lacked conviction, yet when one or two others took identical kicks and scored, the pens were cool and well-placed.

    Community Shield | Post-Match Thread

Half-strength team, played OK but not brilliant, beat the rags at Wembley with a near-clinical set of penalties and went home with a trophy. I'm struggling to find anything not to like. Bring on Chelsea.

When did you start following City?

Would have been about 1970. I was at primary school in Southampton and other kids supported the rags, so me being me, I had to do the opposite. I recall I very much liked the badge.

    Greatest athlete since 1945

I don't disagree, and if the question were "greatest all round athlete" I'd have picked Thompson without hesitation. He was unmatched. Greatness is a very hard thing to measure of course, especially when there are many disciplines involved in athletics.

    Greatest athlete since 1945

There's a case for Daley Thompson but then like all multi-discipline athletes, he wasn't the world's best at any of them. Like all of these things it depends on how you define "Greatest", but I'm going with Usain Bolt.

    Sebastian Coe v Steve Ovett

Those were indeed great times for athletics in the UK. I recall preferring Coe, but then I'm.a soft southerner. I recall watching Steve Cram right in the mix too though, The Jarrow Arrow. Alan Wells was mentioned earlier, 100m gold at the 1980 Olympics, that's certainly one for the history...

Actually (and yes I'm a fucking pedant, but it's a great fact), it was a woman who is credited with inventing Tippex, and she was the mother of Mike Nesmith from The Monkees. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bette_Nesmith_Graham

    Sir Waistcoat FFS (P65)

Yep, Klopp would be my choice. Hated him at the dippers but you can't question his talent.

I'd take Klopp as England manager.

    Spain v England - Sun 14th July, 20:00 | Euro 2024 Final

No shame in losing to a superb Spanish side, and two finals is more than I ever expected of us. Lucky to reach this one I think, the draw was very kind. Would have been wonderful to win, but it wasn't to be.

We've got a fucking good chance of winning this with the right changes at 60 mins.
