Too many games are damaging players

Whatever the issues are, I don’t see the smaller countries and overseas territories of the world being the problem. Why shouldn’t they be able to play international football as well? There’s a thread on the FA Cup where people are claiming that the early rounds with all the amateur teams are...

    VAR Discussion Thread | 2024/25

Apart from that Wolves game, when have you ever not known what is going on after there’s been a VAR overturn? Play stops, or doesn’t restart, while the ref sticks his finger in his ear. He runs over to the screen. Watches it a couple of times and then draws a square in the air. Everyone knows...

City bus scheme for home games - bus tracking (P91)

I’m not sure why you’d be fairly certain they’ll be no trams, since they’ve run every other Boxing Day for the last 30 + years?

Greatest Opening Lines to a song

Not really great but I’ve just been listening to a bit of UK Subs and realised that the opening lines to ‘Stranglehold’ are a bit Lostprophety. Yeah, some little girls got a hold on me She’s only 13 but oh so sweet Got me down on my knees Got a stranglehold on me.

Too many games are damaging players

Pretty simple question of quantity V quality really. And while TV companies and to a lesser extent ticket buying fans, are prepared to keep paying regardless if the quality slightly drops, then quantity is going to win out every time.

North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

Safe standing is shit in my opinion. Bring back proper standing or stop wasting money on stupid rails. Might as well just tell people in certain seats that they’re ’allowed’ to stand up and save the money.

    VAR Discussion Thread | 2024/25

Some leagues have introduced it. America has I think. From the little I saw of it when it was being trialled at the ladies World Cup, it doesn’t offer much, if anything really though. It was only ever intended for VAR overturns and it’s usually pretty clear what’s happened by the time he’s...

    Children’s ages for holidays

I usually book with Jet 2 when I take the kids away and everyone pays the same price, no matter how young or old they are. Although they do offer a free child’s place on a lot of holidays.

Spurs (A) | EFL Cup | Post Match Thread

Rather win it but if we don’t l, would miles rather go out in the first two rounds. Those two semis, when you’re obliged to play a strongish side, are absolute killers at the business end. Decent enough effort tonight anyway. Always great to some kids getting a bit of a go.

Real Madrid Boycott Ballon D'Or 2024 Because One of Their Players Didn't Win IT!

It seems like half the professional footballers in the world are all over Twitter telling him to ‘Stay strong’ Fuck me, has the guy just been voted the second best footballer in the world, or diagnosed with terminal cancer?

    Cole Palmer

Even when he was at his absolute peak, he was a player who sometimes gave the impression of just getting by in the first half of the season and then come the championship rounds from about March until May, come out firing. Obviously at 34, they’ll come a time in the not too distant future...

"I believe you've been involved in a car accident" ?

Imagine phoning deaf people trying to flog them hearing aids, for a living? Must be one of the most soul destroying jobs on the planet.

What happened to the days when they’d read the crowd out midway through the second half and everyone would clap themselves for bothering to turn up?

City bus scheme for home games - bus tracking (P91)

To be fair, yesterday looked to be far and away the busiest traffic day this year from what I could see. I was still in town at 2 am and there was still gridlock all over town. Not a lot buses can do to run to time when the traffic’s that bad.

Lucy Letby infant murders trial - Guilty verdict (P 13)

A few journalists and politicians throwing their cards on the table now and declaring they believe there’s been a miscarriage of judgment. It doesn’t look like this story is going to slowly drift away anytime soon.
