    Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

I’ve read that he supports four different teams from various people who know for a ‘fact’ just in the last two days.

    Seat Counters - 2024/25

They did sell some new Silver STs and allowed them to be renewed as full STs a couple of years ago.

    VAR Discussion Thread | 2024/25

Doesn’t make sense that the VAR would help convince the ref to rule out Stone’s goal on the field and then recommend he overturns it.

    Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

There is one clip where the referee and assistant are both in view, obviously in verbal communication and the referee blows, does the sort of drawing a line with his finger thing and the linesman simultaneously puts his flag up. Hopefully it’ll on the next ‘Mic’d Up’ and we’ll get to hear...

    Ticket Transfer Issues

No mate. Anyone on your friend’s list. Not sure they’d be much point in that anyway. They’ll already have one.

    The Stones Goal

Should be a shoo- in for next month’s “Mic’d Up” programme I’d imagine.

    Ticket Transfer Issues

You can. I transferred one of ours earlier. Admittedly all the different rules for different competitions and types of STs can be a bit hard to keep on top of.

    Remember Bradford 87 (yes 87)?

Not only did the floodlights fail but it must have been the electrics outside aswell. We came out from behind the net and it was like a huge bank of stairs, a bit like Wembley tube station, in complete darkness. Probably a bit dangerous thinking about it now.

    The Stones Goal

    He was. The referee.

    The Stones Goal

Just re-watched it and noticed that both commentators were still unaware that the referee had ruled it out on the field, even after the game had finished. You can actually hear the point the linesman raises his flag, when all the Wolves fans start cheering. You can then see the City players...

    VAR Discussion Thread | 2024/25

After a pretty quiet start to the season I think in this round of games we’ve had three VAR penalties. Two sendings off. A penalty given, two penalties chalked off and a goal given. Have I missed anything? Pretty eventful weekend. Still one match to go aswell.

    Remember Bradford 87 (yes 87)?

If I remember right, which I probably don’t, Bradford were top of the league and not alone hasn’t lost at home but hadn’t even conceded a goal before that night. I think Whitey was on the bench, unusually for him and came on and got the last one.

    The Stones Goal

Not really. Linesman are told these days, if it’s a subjective offside to inform the referee verbally that a player is in an off side position and then wait for the referee to tell him to either raise the flag or if he decides that there was no interference, to keep it down. Looking at it...

    The Stones Goal

You can’t concede a foul while the ball isn’t in play.
  15. S

    The Stones Goal

It’s irrelevant anyway because the contact was so minimal it’s not going to get given in England. But what little contact Silva did make with the ‘keeper was before the corner was taken, so it couldn’t possibly have been penalised anyway.

    The Stones Goal

The referee and the assistant would have had a little chat first. The linesman would have confirmed he was in an offside position and the referee then decides he thinks he’s interfering with an opponent and tells him to stick his flag up. No idea how long that took, because I was watching it...

    VAR Discussion Thread | 2024/25

It doesn’t help that the ‘experts’ in the studio haven’t got a clue what they’re talking about. Both Richards and Sturridge chatting total nonsense. Silva’s position is totally irrelevant until the point Stones heads it. Any VAR involvement is going to get talked about when it leads to an...

    VAR Discussion Thread | 2024/25

No worries mate. I’ve not bothered going today, watched it on TV. And Sky didn’t help matters. They clearly thought it had been given onfield. Which is a bit shit since presumably the lineman was stood there with his flag up at some point.

    VAR Discussion Thread | 2024/25

He didn’t go against the VAR. He’d disallowed it. It was the VAR who recommended he gives it.
