    TV Series

Yeah, I’m in the “Not bad” camp as well. Nearly always happens when I watch something that I’ve seen hugely bigged up and recommended. Your expectations seem to play a big part in how much you enjoy something. Recently watched the first two series of “House of the Dragon” Started watching...

I’m A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!

For the first few days I thought he can’t be that good an actor. As annoying as he is, I thought he was at least being genuine. I’m not so sure now. Nobody can get in such a state of hysteria by basically having a cold shower. Farage admitted last year that he’d taken advice on how best to...

    Positive BBC thread

I’m sure there are some people who have sat down and very carefully weighed up the pros and cons of the BBC and decided in good faith that the balance is tipped in favour of defunding it for them personally. I also that that there are many people who are convinced that every single thing they...

    Ticket Transfer Issues

Maybe I’m the only one who didn’t know this? But just in case I’m not…. I’ve just transferred a season ticket for Tottenham from a child to an adult and it only charged me the difference between 1/19th of the child ST and 1/19th of an adult ST in that block. I’m ( almost ) sure that...

    Positive BBC thread

Apologies for veering off topic but ITVX must be the absolute worst for adverts. Makes YouTube look like they hardly bother with them. I very rarely watch any ‘live’ non sport TV. But the kids wanted to watch a film the other day and I fired it up on ITVX just because it was the first...

    Positive BBC thread

They have to keep the BBC, if only for the sake of poor old Elon Musk. His new Twitter toy would be on its arse, without the Tweets from Reform type weirdos, whinging about Gary Lineker’s wages and how the Communists are running their News department these days.

    TV Series

Wait until you find out that they only ever made one series of Bagpuss and just showed repeats of it during every school holidays for the next20 years.

    Flexi Gold season ticket

To be honest mate I was in two minds whether I could be arsed buying another one anyway. I was going to phone back and see if another operator would be a bit more flexible but I couldn’t even be arsed doing that in the end.

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

They were only serving 12-2 on a Sunday afternoon long after the 70s. I didn’t start drinking until about ‘83 and it was those hours for a good while after that. I’m going to guess very late 80s until it changed to 12-3. There used to be big queues outside a lot of pubs by 11.45, as no one...

I’m A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!

That’s the major flaw in the show right there tonight. The whole episode is built around the trial and when they refuse to give them a proper go, it leaves a big void in the programme. He’ll be sure to be getting voted every night now until he makes a decent fist of one. And I doubt that’s...

I’m A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!

They’ve both been in the betting with most firms since the books opened. I don’t think they even make a pretence of any element of surprise these days.

    VAR Discussion Thread | 2024/25

Who knows what secret plans they may have? But there has been mass mis-reporting over FVS, with some outlets claiming it will result in ‘coaches challenges’ in leagues using VAR. As far as any reputable source goes, the only thing I’ve seen at least, is as the other guy says, it’s intention is...

I’m A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!

You can get a very big price on her if you do. Doesn’t really fit the demographic of past winners. Also worth baring in mind, that Richard Coles and a Love Island fitty called Maura Higgins will be joining them soon.

I’m A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!

Everybody can comment on whatever they like for me mate. I just find it a bit odd that someone would go to the trouble of clicking on a thread about a specific television programme to post that they won’t be watching any of it. That’s all.

I’m A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!

It’s that time of year again when middle aged men meticulously scrutinise the ‘I’m a Celebrity’ line up, before proudly declaring that they’ve never heard of any of them. Then off to a thread set up to specifically discuss the programme, to inform everybody that they won’t be watching a minute...

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

It’s funny, you go on the Lacoste website and all the models are young, hip kids. Same with the staff in store. Yet virtually everyone you ever see wearing it are middle aged, normally overweight blokes.

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

Quality gear in there mate. I still wear Lacoste to this day. Just out of habit I think more than anything. But the quality isn’t what it was. Mind you, the price isn’t either. They sell stuff now for more or less the same price it was costing in the 80s.

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

Yeah that’s it. There were two close together on the road up from Piccadilly Gardens to the station. One was Hurleys Golf and the other just Hurleys I think, for clothes. Think the only actual stores left now are one in Bolton and maybe Stockport, if it’s still going.

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

Tiktokers think they invented it. Hurleys at Piccadilly was getting done every other Saturday back in the 80s.

    England v Ireland - Sun 17th Nov, 17:00 | UEFA Nations League

Maybe my memory isn’t what it was, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him have a header at goal in his whole career before tonight and then he goes and has two in five minutes.
