City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

You'd think, having been told their rules were unlawful the PL would show some contrition and negotiate a way forward. Instead they are doubling down. To me, that only proves what we've known all along this is not about acting in good faith, this is "personal" against City.

    Media discussion - 2024/25

It's not that people like Parry come out with shit like this that turns my stomach, it's that no one in the media is prepared to call them out on it, rather they are prepared to rejoice in it.

    United Thread | 2024/25

Seems to me that the problem with obsessing about another club, and making key decisions based on what they are doing, is that you take your eyes of your own club. We've all laughed at their managerial and player signings based on what we (and Ajax) appear to be doing. Every club culture is...

Premier League Games 9/10 November 2024

Curious that despite arsenal's relentless fouling, scuffling, pushing and arguing, not once has Neville mentioned "professional fouls". And yet, oddly, when we were playing the most beautiful football the country has ever seen, he couldn't stop banging on about it.

    Bluemoon Angling Thread

It used to be 2 years, surprises me it's gone up to 3. That said, you seldom had to wait 2 years so maybe that's a worst case scenario. I hope so. The problem is that do many clubs are folding and PAA are hoovering up their waters.

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

At the risk of appearing "giddy" to our more supercilious posters, it seems to me that, even if we ignore the wider implications of our successful challenge to the APT rules, this part, in itself, is significant in that, for those subject to refused sponsorship deals, it throws some light on...

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

I'd suggest that so many of our recent achievements are so superior to anything that has been achieved before, or will be again, that it's an optimum time to sign long-term deals. Who knows where we'll be in 3 years given the rebuild that's required.

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

Except that a) we'll have won 3 more titles, an unprecedented 4 in a row and b) a treble and c) a European Super Cup and d) a World Club Championship. These are things that were more than just "possible" and City and their sponsors should have been allowed to take into account but weren't. And...

    Champions League | Gameweek 4 | 5/6 Nov '24

I thought the Arse were pretty good. However, the lack of a striker will kill them in terms of trophies. Liverpool can always find a goal or two from somewhere even though, as a team, they aren't all that.
