Yes, fished Ladybower the other week and it was very hard going in good conditions. My mate used every variation he could think of and only caught one. I flogged away with the same (dry) fly all day and caught 6 much to my delight. The impression was that it hadn't been stocked for a good while.

Good question and it figures that just as I am doing more fly-fishing, they'd start closing waters down. On the plus side, there seem to be more salmon in the rivers. My mate had one on the Hodder today. @snorky how's the Wye doing ?

    Rodri - The 2024 Ballon d'Or Winner! (Pg 131)

I read somewhere that it was US that told them, "out of courtesy". I'll try to find where I read that later.

    Rodri - The 2024 Ballon d'Or Winner! (Pg 131)

Crikey, Tebas has had a brain transplant... 'I'm a Madrid fan. The important values of this club are to be a gentleman and to shake hands when you lose. 'I think Real Madrid lost that mentality a long time ago. They should have gone to the ceremony and not questioned the France Football...

Real Madrid Boycott Ballon D'Or 2024 Because One of Their Players Didn't Win IT!

I hope that next year City put out a statement before the ceremony confirming that we will be attending to support and offer our sincere congratulations to whoever wins the awards.

Real Madrid Boycott Ballon D'Or 2024 Because One of Their Players Didn't Win IT!

if there really is a "Frankostein club", it's Madrid. No domestic competition to speak of and a team made up of their first choice picks from around the world either bought for eye-watering sums or poached on a free. All based on a history of state sponsorship and geographical.location. With...

    Rodri - The 2024 Ballon d'Or Winner! (Pg 131)

I'm expecting a statement from Madrid offering some pathetic excuse for their inexcusable behaviour.

"The singing, including some golden oldies which date many fans as Stretford End and United Road veterans of the 1970s and 80s, have a joy, as well as defiance, about them. The banners – Making Friends Not Millionaires, said one; Pies not Prawns, said another – have a laugh, too. There is a...

    Atmosphere 2024/25

The first instruction to any team visiting any club with an intimidating crowd is to damp down the atmosphere by defending well and controlling the game as much as possible. It's what every team does when they come to the Etihad, Even Real Madrid did it last season and some fans gave the team...

    Southampton (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

I didn't think that was bad at all. I think the team looked the most cohesive unit they have this season and, but for poor finishing, we'd be quite happy. The lack of goals from midfield is a bit of a worry though.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

As you know, given the number of referrals the SFO receives, there is an initial "vetting" stage where a decision is made whether to investigate at all. Considerations would include the nature of the "victims" and whether an alternative remedy such as civil action is available which, in this...
