    Wolves (A) Post Match Thread

I think there's been some overreaction to this result, considering that: - Wolves are a very decent side and will take points off the top 6 throughout the season. - Their goal was an offside handball, and we had a clear penalty denied almost immediately afterwards. - We hit the woodwork three...

It was hard to miss and to not hear - trust me, I did my best to ignore it!

    Do Aliens actually exist ?

It's a possibility vs probability thing. It's tempting to think that because of the huge and almost unimaginable scale of the universe that alien life is very likely or highly probable. It seems a very reasonable assumption. However, that probability only comes into play when we know that life...

Charity Shield - Post Match Thread

I can shed some light on this as I was sat by it! Basically, at the start of the game a bloke and two ladies arrived to find some blokes (one chubby one in a blue shirt, and one scrawny, taller one) sitting in their seats. They kindly asked them to move and were aggressively told to fuck off...

    Season ticket confetti.

I've been to watch Espanyol a fair few times (picked them as my team to watch when I briefly lived in Barcelona); they used to give fans confetti and it looked ace when it was all thrown as the players came out. Ended up in everyone's beers, though.

    P***ing in the sink

Back in the day I did it in my room at halls of residence all the time. Toilets were down the corridor, which meant popping on some bottoms and flip flops and walking 10 metres; sink was at the bottom of the bed. No brainer. I remember after a night out about 5 or 6 lads were in my room...

    Alan Sugar

I've no problem with race-based jokes per se, as they can often be about holding up a mirror to racism or playing with expectations and stereotypes (same goes for religion, gender and sexuality). In the right context, with the right audience and coming from the right comedian, that particular...

    Donald Trump

Very good points. I'd add to that that we also don't know where Russia comes into this. Although China is often held up as the de jure ally of N.Korea, Russia is a kind of de facto ally and benefits greatly from N.Korean slavery in places like Siberia. I see Russia as a kind of enabler -...

    General Videogame Thread

On PS4, yes. It's fairly simple, too - just a case of downloading, copying to a USB and following some instructions (like rearranging some of the league structures to fit the right amount of teams, moving some teams from one league to another, and then overwriting the fake ones). Takes about...

    General Videogame Thread

A lot of people have said this but I really don't think it will hurt Pro Evo. People have always bought it for the gameplay, not the bells and whistles. The lack of licenses isn't a problem if you have a USB stick and a spare 30 minutes to download and install the option files. If it still...

    The young turks

    1) OP as in original post. The original post was the video, was it not? 2) You posted the video and subsequently expressed opinions that aligned with its sentiment. If in fact you disagree with the video then I've misunderstood you, although that's irrelevant (see point 1)

    The young turks

TYT isn't without its faults - Cenk's spat with Sam Harris was embarrassing and i think it was the main reason behind a few departures at the channel - but the OP just seems a bit off the mark, not least in misunderstanding where the name 'The Young Turks' actually comes from and what it means...

    The Vegas Golden Knights

Jet's fan here; fiance is from Winnipeg and we're moving out there next year, so I've had no choice but to get into hockey, which has meant a few late nights recently watching the games. Hockey is the only American sport I like and fortunately the Winnipeg have a good team with a great fan base...

    Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

Haha sorry, poorly worded on my part. Meant specifically the 'use' part. Anyway, you get my drift - assassination by gun not the same as accidental death by shark, and understandable why the latter might not inspire a tattoo in the same way that former might.

    Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

I suspect not, because a shark is not a weapon or instrument of death, there is no societal 'shark problem' that have affected families like Sterling's, as far as I know there are no laws governing the ownership or use of sharks and there is no political issue surrounding sharks.

Can't disagree with any of that. Spiderman looks great, and whilst I've yet to play Sunset Boulevard I get the feeling that I will love it.

    General Videogame Thread

It's funny because one of the things people told me about the game before I played it was how hard the docking was, yet I've had no problems with it at all! It took me a while to work out that there's a trick knowing which direction to approach the pad, but in terms of manoeuvring I've not had...

I have Elite Dangerous on PS4 (waited specifically for that version, rather than upgrading my PC or getting it on XBO), and that too will have around a 10-year life-span, I reckon. I think that consoles will start to think more about long-term games; the likes of Overwatch *which is kind of like...

I have both PS4 and XBO and I have to agree with you about the exclusives. My XBO is now a gloried TV stream box - other than three or four exclusives, there's really no reason to own one if you already own a PS4 (which does have a fair few decent exclusives. So far I think that this generation...

    Most annoying accent

Well, it's the narcissism of difference, isn't it. If you're not immersed in something like that then it's hard to pick up the nuances; if you are 'in it' or more used to it then it's much clearer. My Bedford accent is, to me, very different to that of North London, yet I often get asked if I'm...
