Premier League Games 8/9 April '23

It did have a “Diana Ross World Cup ‘94” vibe, now you mention it

    25 | Manuel Akanji - 2022/23 Performances

Thought he was very good passing through their press, especially when Liverpool could still be arsed in the first half. His ability to pass first-time with either foot is really useful However, he was caught out for their goal, and I was disappointed when he went into a challenge really weakly...

    Liverpool (H) | Post-Match Thread

Doubt that would even crack his personal top ten worst performances, the absolute shitehawk

    8 | Ilkay Gundogan - 2022/23

Possibly his best game of the season. Just oozes class

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2022/23 Performances

Great player and he just fucking loves being out there in a City shirt

    26 | Riyad Mahrez - 2022/23 Performances

Thought he was absolutely magnificent today, both wingers were superb

    17 | Kevin De Bruyne - 2022/23 Performances

    He’s not Belgium’s manager anymore

Genuinely don’t think they know what the rule is

Alternatively: get it out of your systems in a game where the ref seems to have lumped his mortgage on a City win

Have we finally started paying off the officials?

Arguably De Bruyne, but only with his weaker foot

Our lads should be playing that pass 20 times a game

I like Bernardo wide right and I'm not afraid to admit it

    6 | Nathan Ake - 2022/23

This is the issue with Aké at left-back, he doesn't have Aké at LCB to cover for him when he goes forward

    6 | Nathan Ake - 2022/23

He's also more predictable (in a good way!) when he supports the attack than Cancelo ever was. Grealish especially benefits from Aké in that role because he knows where Nathan is going to be in any given situation. It's actual support

Play the most energetic players, look like a more energetic team. Who knew?

He probably did, if we did. I don't think he trusts some of his squad in these situations.

Could we not try Jack in the middle with Foden wide? Or even Álvarez, Grealish and Foden interchanging behind Haaland?

This is a very good illustration of why De Bruyne is on the pitch whenever possible, form or fitness be damned. Even when he's off it he at least tries to make something happen. There's no way he would have not tried to put Haaland through in the same position that Gündy didn't

We're playing like we're 4-0 up here, and we're not. A bit more urgency and variety in how we progress the ball would really help. Our wingers don't cross the ball and our central midfielders don't play through balls. It leaves us creating precious little despite our obvious superiority
