Benjamin Mendy - City lose case and Mendy awarded £11m in back pay (p168)

That's not the case, the original poster was correct. https://www.amacdonaldlaw.com/blog/2016/may/what-is-the-difference-between-innocent-and-not-/

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

Go and check what? You clearly have articles that you think I'm referring to share them.

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

For me, the best football analogy (as limited as they are with something as nuanced) is to that of trying to break down a low block. We attack with all our might and are repelled repeatedly until we aren't, our last 2 shots, in 90+ minutes, go in. Now we may applaud the other team for defending...

Sidebar - I enjoyed that film. Daft but enjoyable schlock

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

I don't - the statute of limitations applies in both. The PL rules are governed by UK law. The point was the sensationalist idea that City were protected by time-barring at CAS but the PL investigation doesn't have that.

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Completely agree. I think we are more frail against transitions because of the lack of athleticism in our midfield. Lining up in 3 1 6, when we lose possession we are more exposed as our midfield isn't dynamic and the wrong side of 30. Sidenote, we shouldn't expect Rodri to be our starting 6...

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

True, but I feel it could be a waste of goodwill from erstwhile allies if it would fail. Better to keep someone in position who nobody really likes, and rally support against important votes (APT amendments), than Masters be replaced with someone competent.

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

I don't think there would be any point. Why polarise even more by pushing it, when his ineptitude can be exposed anyway. The other clubs will just be frustrated by his inability to bring us to heel for our 'indiscretions'.

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

City clearly leaked to them this week before the full announcement. Would say that Lawton & Ziegler do value their integrity, despite having written nonsense about us (statute of limitations apparently doesn't apply to PL against City but does for clubs suing City...which they can't do), so they...

    England v Greece | 10th Oct '24 | Nations League

They looked better the previous game. This game was a mixture of insane tactics, no midfield and poor individual performances.

I mean, by the performance I'd say 18 of those minutes were them spamming aimless balls to no one and dribbling into players.

    47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

He was pretty anonymous. No shots, no key passes, just pretty ineffective against a limited team.

    England v Greece | 10th Oct '24 | Nations League

God awful team performance. No midfield, completely confused attack, atrocious defending and a keeper intent on passing to the Greeks. Really quite disappointed in our players. Stones showed the guy onto his right foot in the box, for no reason, for the first goal; Rico awful for the second and...

    Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

That'd be interesting! Tbh I mainly want Pep to be a bit more balanced in his selection/subs - he went cautious against Fulham for the starting XI then absolutely chaotic with the subs. Starting balanced may help get the best out of 3 1 6 - particularly as Savinho tracks back well!

    Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

Yeah I'm the same - I think with who we have and who gets picked, we don't threaten enough and the personnel aren't the best for defending transitions (OOP) when we lose it. The margins become quite slim

This. People are so polarised that they have to believe it's a zero sum game.

    The Squad planning thread

In fairness, in midfield it feels like there's been a mixture of not getting people onboard (Bellingham), moving onto other targets too late (Rice) and being steadfast with our valuation due to apprehension of how it appears (Guimaraes). Not having back ups or landing targets is a black mark...

    The Squad planning thread

We wouldn't have signed Gundo or another midfielder if Gundo hadn't been made available at the end of the window. That's not planning, it's pragmatic & opportunistic. We didn't initially offer a longer contract (1 year extension was our initial offer) due to Gundo's age - which was correct. The...
