    The Title Race - 2023/24

Strictly speaking, the bookies don't predict anything, the punters do. Bookies odds are based on nothing else but public betting (with a slight bias in favour of the bookie)

A lesson for us too in both of those games. Nobody is immune. COYB!!!

Arsenal (H) - Post Game Thread

Looked like two teams who didn't want to lose, more so for Arsenal. For all of our possession we didn't really create any amazing chances. They'll be happier by far. We've left ourselves with a lot to do and require the Gods to favour us.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Tony Bellew on talksport moaning that it's becoming a closed shop. Donkeys years too late. We told you all this was the case and you didn't listen. He's doing the whataboutcity now. It's so ignorant. One minute bemoaning that you can't invest and then moaning at city because they did invest.

Chelsea (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Frustrating match. We didn't seem quite at it and there were shades of the Everton match. We weren't terrible but we certainly lacked tempo. Chelsea played well and worked hard. They looked very dangerous on the break. After their goal, we upped our tempo, but we left it all a little too late...

Match Thread | Newcastle vs Man City (13/01/24)

We are quite predictable in our play. I'm starting to Bellamy and Tevez!

At least a birthday cake by my reckoning

Actually saying it on here doesn't influence the outcome. Any bookie will tell you this.

Crystal Palace PL (H) Post match thread

Palace are set up to do snatch and grab and we are set up to make the same old mistakes. As it stands, we simply aren't as strong as last season and I doubt we will be, even with KDB returning. We are precisely where we deserve to be. Well off the pace for title contenders. We can't keep...

Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Villa were excellent. We we weren't. We haven't been at the races for a number of games and that will have given opposition a boost. Fair result. They should probably have won by more.

Two minors suspended by club for offensive chanting at Brighton game | 17 year old charged by GMP (p29)

I overheard one middle aged bloke telling his young son (under 10) that if he saw any Brighton fans to call then puffs. This was coming out the match. The absolute state of some adults astounds me. We have our fair share of morons. We aren't alone in having idiots in our midst, but it's saddening.

Arsenal (A) - PL Post Match Thread

Two nervous teams. Neither looked at their best and possibly more likely to make a mistake than to score. We've been here before - lacking ideas and struggling to break down teams, but we've always had enough creativity to get through those spells. I think we're lacking in creativity at the...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The 'state sponsored' mantra is all too easy to churn out. However: 1) What precisely is the problem with state sponsorship / ownership? Is is the potential political motivation behind it? - if so, then aren't large businesses such as VW also politically motivated? Is it the sheer wealth...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

But they seem more than happy to export the football 'product' to those countries and take their money that way. It's all just so hypocritical. One minute we're encouraging nations to join in and get with the western world view - trying to influence them, the next we are becoming the dictators...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

'Seriously distorting EU markets' - do they understand that Football Clubs are such small fry in real terms compared with genuine multinational businesses? BP turned over 248 Billion USD last year. Shell were 358 billion, VW were 252 billion... Man City and others are really not distorting EU...
