    Liverpool thread 2020/21

Think they didn't realise how lucky they were last season or even the season before when they were actually playing better. When they won the CL in 2019: how likely was it that they would beat Barca 4:0 without both Salah and Firmino and with both Origi and Wijnaldum (of all players) scoring...

Very true. If we were threatening and suing journalists, it would only strengthen the prejudices about the non-democratic nature of our owners. It would be a bad OG.

    Points to win the League

It's likely that even 3 wins will be enough for the title, especially if we win on Sunday. But 'likely' is the key word. Extremely unlikely things happen, especially in a strange season like this. When we drew with WBA, virtually everyone including the most optimistic fans didn't expect that we...

    Man United (H) | Pre-Match Thread

Momentum is very important in football. Jesus has scored 3 goals in his last 2 starts and Mahrez has contributed 2 goals and several assists since Everton. At least one of them will start, maybe both. Rodri, Gundogan and Bernardo will start. Bernardo has started in 14 of the last 15 league wins...

100 days since we were 13th in the league.

    Man United (H) | Pre-Match Thread

Think we may use tactics similar to that at Anfield: wear them down patiently and then go for the jugular in the 2nd half. It will be their 3rd game in 7 days and they are not likely to have much in the tank in the last 20 minutes. We made 7 changes against West Ham and 6 changes vs Wolves, so...

    Media Thread - 2020/21

Our bad start to the season makes what's hapening now feel even better. Back then, after we lost from Spurs, or after our draw with WBA, they were writing us off and were thinking that the wheels were finally coming off, that Pep was tired or found out, that we were going to rebuild for years...

    Man United (H) | Pre-Match Thread

After Jesus scored 2 goals and Mahrez was brilliant, it will be really tough for Pep to select the first XI. Imo, the plan was Foden to replace Mahrez/Jesus, Gundogan to replace Kevin and Stones to replace Laporte. Gundy and Stones will play but not sure about Foden now. Bernardo is key in...

    Wolves (H) | Pre-Match Thread

Aguero hasn't played a long time and hasn't scored for 13 months a league goal. He's rusty. Even Kevin was very rusty against West Ham. Fernandinho at 35 is not the same player. Of course, such things matter. We were very close to dropping points vs West Ham precisely because those players...

    Wolves (H) | Pre-Match Thread

It would be interesting to see something like that in midfield and attack tonight: Rodri Bernardo Foden Jesus Aguero Sterling Then KDB for Aguero after 60 minutes.

    Wolves (H) | Pre-Match Thread

Did you see why we choked against Wigan back in 2018? It's football, the opposition always has a small chance to get a result even against the very best teams. That's why even the greatest teams have never won 30 games in a row. Often they choke unexpectedly, like Liverpool last season against a...

    Liverpool thread 2020/21

The nightmare scenario for Liverpool would be to miss out on a CL spot because of Everton. Imagine that.

    Breaking records/stats thread

Arguably, the most important record we can break is 6 trophies in a calendar year set by Pep's Barca and Bayern in 2009 and 2020 respectively (technically, Bayern's 6th wasn't in 2020 but you get what I mean). It's virtually impossible though. I'd be happy with the PL and very happy with the PL...

    Breaking records/stats thread

We need 16 league wins in a row to pass Benfica's league record of consecutive wins, not 16 wins in all compets.

8 more league wins take us to 22 league wins in a row. Not sure what you mean wrt Benfica.

    Breaking records/stats thread

Benfica's record of 29 consecutive wins is league only, not all compets. We have to win the next 4 games to surpass Bayern's record and another 3 games (i.e. including Leicester in early April) to beat Ajax' s record from 1972. Almost impossible albeit not completely impossible.

United got more last season, 14, which helped them get in the CL.

    United thread 2020/21

Same with those on RAWK. Thousands of posts about us being irrelevant. The irony is completely lost on them.
