How are we all feeling about our club today?

Fine. I expect the owners and board to make decisions that will broadly benefit themselves and the club and I don’t always expect to agree with them. The point here though is that the owners and board agreed with the concept of a European franchise league even if they had doubts about the...

The Super League | FA: Official Inquiry + PL: New Charter & Fines + UEFA: Settlement

Agreed. It will be interesting to see if we have managed to parlay this to our advantage. Fingers crossed.

The Super League | FA: Official Inquiry + PL: New Charter & Fines + UEFA: Settlement

Next question is. What discussions took place between City and UEFA today? Given we were first to pull out, what triggered it, other than fan pressure? Interesting days ahead.

You might as well just condense this by saying City are run by gormless idiots. Do you really think City are run by gormless idiots?

The Super League | FA: Official Inquiry + PL: New Charter & Fines + UEFA: Settlement

Agreed. The PL needs these six teams more than the six teams need the PL. The power lies with the clubs, everyone knows it and no amount of noisy outrage is changing that.

The Super League | FA: Official Inquiry + PL: New Charter & Fines + UEFA: Settlement

It will be legally challenged, it’s restraint of trade...you won’t counter this with stunts that can be circumvented. UEFA, PL need a coherent, viable alternative that gives the 12 clubs pretty much what they want otherwise they will press ahead. The ESL will happen, the only points open to...

The Super League | FA: Official Inquiry + PL: New Charter & Fines + UEFA: Settlement

If an ESL match coincides with a PL match then City field a second string for the PL match which triggers the wrath of broadcasters who are paying billions for PL rights and not a City B team. Playing silly buggers will get UEFA, PL, et al precisely no where.

Then City host the ESL matches outside the UK.

Now you’re talking...apologies if already posted. ‘UEFA is preparing a counter-attack in the Super League. UEFA is working with english investment fund to come up with new LOC that would have a starting budget of 4.5 billion € but which could go up to 7 billion.‘ @RCMSport

They will. All they said was they haven’t been involved. No where do they say they won’t be involved if approached.

Yeah, City going back to UEFA isn’t an option. That just hands them the knife to gut us with. For better or worse, City have to see this through until there is either a ESL or a UEFA sanctioned version based on the ESL club’s terms.

The Super League | FA: Official Inquiry + PL: New Charter & Fines + UEFA: Settlement

Yeah, so what is the counter offer? You want us back in the fold, you want us to abandon a franchise model and control of how it operates, you want us to pass on a £350m signing on fee? So what‘s your offer? A public finger wagging?

The Super League | FA: Official Inquiry + PL: New Charter & Fines + UEFA: Settlement

Maybe, but sitting this out or not getting involved either in the ESL or as part of a deal thrashed out with UEFA means you are relegated to the sidelines from the beginning. If you’re in it you get to have a say in how it develops. If you’re not, you‘re already fucked.

The Super League | FA: Official Inquiry + PL: New Charter & Fines + UEFA: Settlement

If all you have is an appeal to the owners better nature, mixed in with an insult, then you have a problem. This fight is over a future business model, not the romance. ‘UEFA President, Aleksander Ceferin: "To the #PL clubs, come to your senses. Not out of love for football, I don’t imagine...

City and the rest want more than an olive branch. They want control and cash. Fine words ain’t going to cut it.

Yeah, although if they had also received the golden ticket they would have jumped on board so fast they would have suffered whiplash. Right now, everyone is reacting based on their own self interest. The only people who aren’t are the fans.

The Super League | FA: Official Inquiry + PL: New Charter & Fines + UEFA: Settlement

I’m against the idea. But me being against something doesn’t mean I can’t see the reality of the situation. City were never going to pass on an invite to be a founding member of a Super League with 11 of the biggest clubs. At a minimum it gives them leverage when the ESL founders sit down with...
