    Hyde Road Stadium

Sorry. I can’t find a publisher willing to take a gamble on it. It’s an expensive book to produce and I funded it myself last time to ensure I could get it out there.I’d love to update it. My Peter Barnes biography was funded by me as well and bookshops simply won’t take it, claiming a City/Utd...

Here‘s a list: https://gjfootballarchive.com/about/ Most are out of print now but you can still pick them up secondhand. Two books (Manchester A Football History and my first book From Maine Men To Banana Citizens), plus lots of my other writing is now available to subscribers to my website...

Attendance Facts - MCFC & LFC Comparison

My Facebook had a lot of LFC comments posted including some quoting facts which are clearly not true. One of my favourites claimed that when City reduced the capacity from 55k to 53,500 they continued to post the old attendances (I.e over new capacity) even though the capacity is about 1500...

What became the dog track was also a site looked at by City. In fact I’m convinced that was the preference for years.

    Hyde Road Stadium

That will be referring to the 1920 fire. Lots to say on Hyde Road, Manchester Central and the other grounds. Happy to post images, story etc. but give me a bit of time as it‘s a bit difficult at the moment. I have previously written this about Central though...

Attendance Facts - MCFC & LFC Comparison

Good one. City have a massive squad…. Err, no it’s the same size as everyone else’s. It might be better but it’s the same size.

Attendance Facts - MCFC & LFC Comparison

Maybe I’ll tackle the ‘cost of City’s bench’ next. That’s one that seems as ludicrous.

Attendance Facts - MCFC & LFC Comparison

The point is that they compare themselves to us and try to ridicule but when research is done it’s clear that the facts work favourably towards City. That‘s what the article shows.

Yes that’s true too. I’ve previously posted stuff like that on my Twitter.

Attendance Facts - MCFC & LFC Comparison

It was when we started winning trophies before the we were the ‘loyalist fans in football’ - also something that other clubs could‘ve challenged. I notice the same sort of thing is starting to happen to Newcastle.

Attendance Facts - MCFC & LFC Comparison

There‘s a whole series of articles to write on attendances at domestic cups and Champions League games

    Hyde Road Stadium

I wanted to do a proper archeological dig a few years back and wrote to Time Team, sadly they never replied. I have been helping an artist who is painting the stadium as it was and lots of other things may happen this year too.

Piece Hall worth a visit too.

Attendance Facts - MCFC & LFC Comparison

I’ve seen more nonsense in the last few days about attendances at City and Liverpool so I’ve dug out some analysis and posted an article that I hope will be useful to any City fan who has had enough of silly jibes from LFC. Basically, City have had a higher average attendance than LIverpool for...

    Hyde Road Stadium

It’s still there. It’s on my ‘watch list’ And was due to go a few years back but Calderdale council’s plans stalled.

His plan was for a bottling plant and for some reason that fell through so he moved Utd there instead and it was a flop for years. Crowds dropped despite them winning the League etc.

Was there ever a blue that attended matches at Hyde Rd, Maine Road and Etihad

Yes, I met a few in 2002-03 while researching Farewell To Maine Road who had been to games at Hyde Rd & Maine Rd and some were invited to COM by MCFC when we moved.
