The Album Review Club - Week #191 (page 1286) - Harlequin Dream - Boy & Bear

I've had a listen. Quite liked the church sounding choir at the start of the first track. Then some idiot hitting every surface repeatedly kicked in. Austeritz is about the only track I thought...hmmm... The rest just washed over me. Will do a headphone listen later.

Huntingdon Train Incident - Reports of multiple stabbings

Can't protect them if you are hiding behind a thick metal door.

It's tough being a drug smuggler

Just a weird case, pouty girl goes on holiday, gets knocked up, gets caught with drugs, claims she was tortured, gets banged up. Meanwhile her Mum has managed to get a load of money together and has had a fabulous make over. And given the rest to the authorities.

Is train travel in the UK expensive? Or am I missing something? Serious question

What we should do is take it back into government ownership and charge a fair price. A price that still allows investment.

    Rock Evolution – The History of Rock & Roll - 1984 - (page 198)

I do hope someone is going to pick Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Released in this year but not making number 1 until 1984 the only members on Trevor Horns final version that were actually on the record were Holly Johnson and Paul Rutherford. The original 12" should do it...long version...

    Captain Scarlett or Thunderbirds

Other way around. Scarlet was indestructible. Sticks and stones etc etc...think 115. Thunderbirds were financed by an old American who forked out at the start then raked in the cash.

The Album Review Club - Week #191 (page 1286) - Harlequin Dream - Boy & Bear

Oh I like the album and it's influence spread far and wide but WYWH is a better album.

The Album Review Club - Week #191 (page 1286) - Harlequin Dream - Boy & Bear

Apparently they had no one talented enough to do the voice who was from Birmingham and Lenny Henry was fully booked already so they went with a voice artist. It was discussed at the time, we do we need that God awful accent on the TV, but apparently it was educational. For someone.

You were too young to appreciate it.

    Rock Evolution – The History of Rock & Roll - 1984 - (page 198)

That version of Blue Monday is the original mix, it was just on a later singles album. As long as you don't put on the abortion that is the '88 version with it's added nonsense.

    Rock Evolution – The History of Rock & Roll - 1984 - (page 198)

I'm sure one of the voices was "brakes failing" but that might be a myth.
