Don't apologise for a nomination and there should be no one feeling let down. I'm happy to be listen to stuff I wouldn't normally listen too. Even happy I heard Sleep Token

The Album Review Club - Week #191 (page 1286) - Harlequin Dream - Boy & Bear

You forgot to mention that you now have herpes and her new boyfriend is hammering on your door incessantly for no reason. so you move to a cave and can't hear anything properly anymore - there are noises far away in the dark but you just can't make them out. Until with a sudden realisation it's...

Ultimately didn't want either team to win at anfield but it's properly aggravated me how bad Madrid have been. It can be tough to put Liverpool under pressure at Anfield - we've all seen how they will drop and win free kicks under a little pressure but Madrid were so passive it angered me

They've played this poorly against City and managed to win in recent years. They're doing the old rope a dope. Just a bit worried they forgot the rope

Madrid are playing at walking pace and their midfield is way too deep when attacking

Madrid's passing has been very poor. Liverpool have kept a good shape but they are giving up so many easy passes. Perhaps the madrid plan is to attack them on the break but the couple of occasions this half they have had chance to break they've been really slow and not willing to take on a man.

Slow Horses 5 was decent if a little broad. I didn't like the mayors as I don't think it was as clever a satire as they were aiming for. It's never been a show that's realistic but I think it did miss grounding some of the characters in their issues and there is a piece of slapstick that...

Sadly I'm just a very moderate kind of guy so most stuff is just ok. I do enjoy being a bit hyperbolic in my reviews but the score kind of matters I guess

The Album Review Club - Week #191 (page 1286) - Harlequin Dream - Boy & Bear

Prisoners by The Jezabels is what happens when people try too hard to be interesting and then reveal themselves to be quite conservative. If they'd just gone for a more standard indie pop rock approach then they might have been more succesfull as there are hints here and there that they can...

From memory I don't think I've previously heard any of the your choices before. I'd never heard this all they way through either so I think "classic" albums shouldn't necessarily be avoided. I've heard next to nothing from Rush, Fleetwood Mac, Credence, Led Zeppelin etc

The Album Review Club - Week #191 (page 1286) - Harlequin Dream - Boy & Bear

The atmospherics are legit part of the tool kit. Sure I get it's pretentious. I've said previously I don't mind pretentious because at a very fundamental level i believe all music is pretentious. We all experience many of the same human emotions - a musicians puts there's to music and sings...

The Album Review Club - Week #191 (page 1286) - Harlequin Dream - Boy & Bear

Had to look up the word panegyric :) I think you are being very reductive in your criticism of Radiohead. I've not listened to enough Pink Floyd to offer a definitive defence but to describe RH as simply a PF clone is short sighted. I pointed out a couple of points of divergence in my review. I...
