Match Thread | Aston Villa vs. Manchester City (26/10/25)

Wide players poor. Sav slightly better than Bobb who with his performances so far this season is lucky to be on the pitch. Sav has no variety in his crosses at all..he just seems to clip them all in...Im not expecting KDB whipped balls but he could at least try something different Foden the...

    Aston Villa (A) - Sun 26th Oct, 14:00 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

seems a bit unfair on OReilly with his recent performances. I knew Nico wouldnt be available from Peps press conference - so obvious That central pair of Bernardo and Reijnders are going to be under pressure....but I suspect that is why Gvardiol and Stones are playing as both can step into...

he literally gave up on the second goal

    Liverpool Thread | 2025/26

Oh my god! Thats possibly the most embarrassing thing Ive seen ever! Ive always been of the opinion that I cant stand scousers even more than rag fans and I stand by that.....at least some rag fans are Mancs (emphasis on the some!). These are the type of numpties I have to put up with in...

just the point that you just never know with Pep

    14 | Nico Gonzalez - 2025/26

very true...he could be available and just put him on the bench...its not unlike Pep to single a player out for praise and then drop him the next match....he has previous for it infact!

    14 | Nico Gonzalez - 2025/26

the comment by Pep made me think he aint available...he just doesnt want the opponents to know that before the game. Without him it will have to be Kova and reijnders......not sure how I feel about that I suppose we could play Bernardo with Kova but Villa are a very physical team and that...

    Aston Villa (A) - Sun 26th Oct, 14:00 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

Yeah .....both of those two have not really shown wha they are capable of - for different reasons. I think Reijnders has been a bit hit and miss but has undoubted quality and his most recent performance vs Everton I think was one of his all around best so far...he was far more involved all...

    14 | Nico Gonzalez - 2025/26

Yeah I can see it has it potential uses....the fact that both Rodri and Nico as well as defensively very aware, are more than decent going forward as well is a real bonus.

    14 | Nico Gonzalez - 2025/26

really starting to show his class. Smart, coachable and a great no.6....and will get better. Could even play with Rodri as both can get forward effectively. Hope this knock doesnt keep out

Paul Merson: "City are not a top team"

Literally everything he says there is wrong. He says he watched the Everton game but its like he is blind! He says we aint going to hit long balls...we have started playing more longer passes than we ever have. Foden is playing very well which he fails to acknowledge as well.

Marc Guehi | Staying at Palace

remember we also have Reis how is getting decent reviews i think on his loan move?

    Deep Lying Midfield Stones

Stones is so effective in this role..his ability to step out of the back line is better than anyone we have had (sidenote - could Gvardiol do it more and more in the future?) Like others have said its just his fitness levels/injuries that are a concern... When he is on the pitch and can do...

Villarreal (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

One of those weird European away day performances.....not a lot of atmosphere in the stadium....we should have won at a canter (and in some ways we did)...excellent parts of a performance and some other sloppy bits as well.... Haaland on fire and looking very sharp - he seems to be taking more...

    Liverpool Thread | 2025/26

yes...forgot about him...definitely We need some of our wide forwards and attacking mids to start contributing goalvwise....with all the focus on Haaland they should in theory be getting a bit more space.

    Liverpool Thread | 2025/26

You can definitely see Van Dyke is struggling..he aint been the same since that big injury and despite a period of 6 onths or so where he might have remained some of his former power he aint ever in reality been back at that level - and yet they aint gone and got a replacement - very strange and...

    Liverpool Thread | 2025/26

Very true I do think our whole structure of the team seems more secure than last year as well. Pep has definitely changed a few things/made a few tweeks here and there yet still managed to retain our identity. Still a way to go but second half of the season will be very interesting if we can...
