    52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

It was the kind of game where Bobb would have thrived in the central role Doku had.

Why would it be sarcasm. He moves better in the middle and is a better passer

    52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

Perfect game for him to play today in the middle instead of Doku. Too bad Pep didn't see it.

    10 | Rayan Cherki - 2025/26

Indispensable. Mustn't be dropped like ever. His work rate doubled since his early days in Lyon.

    11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

He plays like its 40 degrees outside, he just had a full meal, has been constipated for a week, and also has a hangover. Seriously this level of lethargy is insane for someone so agile. He's definitely gotten stockier and lost pace since Rennes and his first season here. Now its literally just...

So much more unpredictable when getting involved inside.

    10 | Rayan Cherki - 2025/26

I always knew he was a natural fantasista but every time I have seen him hes been more languid and with limited range, also more focused on looking good rather than producing something. Today he was buzzing everywhere, extremely active and constantly involved. Also always looking towards the...

    52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

Not only that but they are on an extremely tight leash in terms of what they are supposed to do. Their creativity is allowed in extremely limited situations. Other than that they are supposed to stretch the field and progress the ball a few yards and just not lose the ball in the process. All of...

    52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

Cherrypicking if there ever was it. Come on, nothing he could do about this. He works more than Doku and Savinho defensively.

He will come good. Trust the process

Nobody brings more control than Grealish. But Doku is also very hard to dispossess, and he generally knows when he needs to recycle the ball or just progress it. What he lags behind Grealish he compensates with a greater ability to break inside and unsettle the defense.

    11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

A treble is a big reward. And I still think the level of control, progression and chance creation that Grealish brought, as well as his defensive contribution is massively underrated around here. IMO he was sold not because of his game but because of his fitness issues.

Thats why there is a plan B and C. Working it out doesn't necessarily mean it can be stopped. Some teams allow Doku to do his thing, and we saw how devastating that can be against Arsenal.

Worked out quite well for the team though. Which is exactly my point ;)

Again the plan A is not for Doku to assist Haaland. Its for Doku to draw players, provide spacing and release the little throughball to the underlapping CM to the touchline for a cutback to Haaland. Hardly anyone could free up more space for Haaland than Doku or Savinho do right now in an...

Then we simply have a different perspective on causality in the context of Pep's decisions. I think he intentionally chooses wingers that can follow and execute the gameplan, and not that he adapts the gameplan to the acquisition of such wingers. I think he knows if he gets a Vinicius or Yamal...

They look better because you see them in a different context.

    11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

They don't need to deliver Mahrez or Sterling amount of goals, the team needs to deliver an amount of goals. In Pep's calculation the best way to achieve this is to maximize the goalscoring of the best goalscorer in his generation and thats accomplished through using them as decoys and looking...

    11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Thats a lot of diverse profiles. Mbappe, Raphinha and Dembele are practically central players by now. Yamal would be severely hampered in this City side. Vinicius would be Pep's biggest nightmare. He gets one out of ten attempts right and has zero regard for consequences on defense. Kvara, and...

    11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

I think they call him rude dog because his style is bustling and looking to terrorize defenders. The primadonna behaviour can be seen primarily in the walking around but also in complaining to teammates that they didn't pass him the ball when he didnt put himself in a position to receive it
