    Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Totally agree. The Ferguson thing is very much an example of what happens when you take that course of action to its absolute extreme. Will never forget that interview that Ole gave as manager where he still referred to Ferguson as "The Gaffer" and wouldn't park in his parking space. Deeply...

    Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

I think it's the right thing to do. Pep's a one off and trying to cling on to his legacy would be a mistake in my opinion. Liverpool seem to be transitioning ok post Klopp having started afresh. The absolute worst thing anyone could do is copy United's decade long mourning period post Ferguson.

    Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

I think Pep's thoughts and advice ought to be taken onboard but i think it would be a mistake to give him too much sway in the matter if his choice was was different to Viana's. Pep has thrived partly because he's Pep but also because the club built an entire eco system and back room staff...

Drinking in the stands to be trialled in the second tier of women's football

Haven't really found a problem with it when I've watched games in other countries. And I think if the relatively new trend of chucking pints takes hold in the event it was re-introduced at the men's game here then I think clubs will just go back to banning it again. I'm glad it's going to be...

    Arsenal Thread | 2024/25

Would prefer them to be full strength against Liverpool tbh. As much as Arsenal are trying create a narrative of being part of a huge new rivalry with us, I expect Liverpool to be the biggest threat tbh.

Drinking in the stands to be trialled in the second tier of women's football

Should have been brought back ages ago and if any specific clubs or fanbase have problems then they should lose the privilege on a club by club basis. I don't think it would be necessarily mean people getting up out of their seats all through the half. It might stop people downing loads of...

Liam Payne dies at the age of 31

BBC did an interesting podcast series on it recently. A few people who have long since been forgotten about spoke about their (negative) experiences https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001vtth

    Thomas Tuchel | England Manager

What I find weird is that I don't think the headlines would have led with the same anti-german rhetoric if Klopp had been made manager.

    WSL Liverpool (A) 13/10/24 KO 15:00

I doubt it went down well at the club either but if her demotion is genuinely down to that incident, then I don't think it's really fair given we've seen players on the men's team treated way more leniently for worse behaviour.

    WSL Liverpool (A) 13/10/24 KO 15:00

I think it is important to just add here that there is still nothing in the public domain that confirms one way or the other that she used or distributed nitrous oxide. It's possible her mum is taking the blame on her behalf but for the time being her mum has said they were hers and that's all...

CITY V FC Barcelona, Wednesday 9th Oct 2024, 8PM. Home leg. UWCL

Yeah, like all of the criticism of him in the past regarding how he makes use of his squad is fair I think. But we've seen a couple of glimpses that suggest he's addressing it

Also found it odd that he took Park off for Roord rather than Miedema who looked absolutely goosed

Has to be said, those of us worried about his ability rotate are definitely having some of their concerns allayed.

Definitely. League will be sewn up by Feb and that's a huge advantage in the latter stages.

Coming up against this sort of thing each week isn't doing them any favours ha

CITY V FC Barcelona, Wednesday 9th Oct 2024, 8PM. Home leg. UWCL

definitely true right now but i think the gap between Barca and the English sides has been consistently closing for the past couple of years and WSL is growing at a much faster rate in terms of competitiveness and attendances. I expect Chelsea fans were rubbing their hands with glee after...

CITY V FC Barcelona, Wednesday 9th Oct 2024, 8PM. Home leg. UWCL

They can try but they weren't able to prise an out of contract Lauren Hemp away and I think La Liga is becoming an increasingly less attractive league when you see Barca rolling teams over 8 and 9 nil every week. With someone like Aleixandri i get it, as she'd be going home, but i think our best...

Definitely. Plus even though she's only small, Hemp is an absolute unit. Jess Park is absolutely ripped too ha. And then of course there's Bunny.

Chuffed to bits about last night. Outstanding individual performances all round and the collective commitment from the team to the game plan was so great to see. Yamashita - did fine but I do think her distribution will need to improve quickly to play in a team like ours. Love how Keating seems...

    Womens Champions League 2024/25

Word of warning. The YouTube stream was down for the matches tonight so the only way to watch tonight was via the app. DAZN is such a messy broadcaster.
