Yeah, decent first touch by Marmoush and he probably wins us the game. With 2 brilliant assists. Difficult to be a very creative player without losing the ball at times

    31 | Ederson - 2025/26

All swings and roundabouts though because teams do get through a lot against Liverpool as they also play a high line. I think they’d concede more goals if they had Ederson in net instead of Alisson.

I think it undoubtedly does. Which makes it even more important we sign a really good right back who’s a natural defensively. Tino Livramento please!

    47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

Yeah. I suppose Foden from the right with Cherki central and midfielders sitting a bit. Some pace at the back too preferably and Livramento!

We’ve might do but would be a very risky game with so many teams now being good on the counter. As great as Rodri is i don’t see how he stops teams getting ball down the side of our centre backs to quick wide men or strikers. I just really rate this lad. So think he’s as close to a sure thing...

    Be a bloody close race

    Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Yeah and even that shower of shite we played in the first game could quite easily have scored 2 or 3

With the state of our defence in this tournament and the lack of pace at centre half i think a very good natural right back would certainly improve us. We’ve bought a left back who is basically a left sided attacker but lines up as a left back. We need balance in my opinion. Like when we had...

Buy an English lad who’s already playing in a top 5 team in the league and have a brilliant right back for 10 years. Or keep doing what we’ve been doing for the last couple of years in other positions spending 40/50m on players from abroad who don’t improve us.

    11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

The shining light for us in the tournament, showed real signs of improvement. If he carries that into next season he’ll be in the team most weeks

    Tino Livramento

Correct. We’re going into another season without a specialist left back. We at least need one proper fullback at the club who’s good defensively.

    Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Oh, yeah definitely. I was just on about where we’re at currently

    Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

We somehow went 2-0 up in that game but they were miles better than us. This is a City side that’s not beaten any of Liverpool, Arsenal or Madrid in about 12 games over the last couple of years.

    Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Did you see what PSG did to us when we played them and how much they were better than Liverpool for the majority of the 2 legs? We’ll see what happens if PSG play this lot later in the tournament and i know who my money would be on. Not saying PSG can’t be got at or are anywhere near the level...

Not so sure that’s the case with Pep

    31 | Ederson - 2025/26

Can see where you’re coming from with the first goal but disagree on the header. No doubt they’ll be plenty of goals next season though that aren’t directly his fault but a world class shot stopper may well have produced some brilliance to stop a goal going in.

    31 | Ederson - 2025/26

From the angle he was at i don’t think he could send it wide. Think he had to try to hang on to it or get power on it. He tried to get it away but it hit a City player. I’m not even particularly trying to defend him but don’t think he was the reason we lost. I’d much prefer a keeper like Alison...

    31 | Ederson - 2025/26

Well, go on then. The header he had no chance, the one on one where our set up from our own corner was Sunday league stuff. The other header he did well to actually save.So the only one was the cross shot he parried but i’m struggling to think of a modern keeper who doesn’t do that. Not trying to...

Might not have led to the goals but it was a glaring weakness throughout the game. Will continue to be as we’ll persist with the high line, have slow centre backs and basically a left winger playing fullback.

It would certainly help having someone quick for all the counters we’ll face defending that high
