He’d certainly provide the energy that our midfield currently lacks. Would be a decent fit I think, and his age/nationality/PL experience work in his favour. Doubt we’d pay anything like the figures quoted though.
This, on paper at least, should be an ideal fixture to get back on track after the recent setbacks. They're on a pretty dire run of form, and are there for the taking.
Am quite looking forward to seeing how that team fares now that the initial surprise has gone. Certainly be more exciting than what would probably have been a fairly routine victory with our strongest XI. Hoping some of the fringe players can push their case for playing more regularly.
Got a feeling he might start later against Leverkusen. If so, let's hope tonight's the night that he starts to turn around his City career. A goal or assist would do wonders for his confidence.
