    Alexsander Kolarov

On the plus side, taxes are a good bit lower there than in the UK. It's never quite as cut and dry as this, but his personal income tax rate would be 35% in Turkey vs 45% in England so in theory, he could make €500k less in gross wages and still make effectively the same amount as in England.

    Zinchenko

That was apparently not true. Sounds like he'll be back right around the start of the season -- Dortmund are suggesting mid August barring any major setbacks.

    Players who might improve us

Hysaj from Albania looks absolutely excellent. He was a regular for Napoli this season and nobody comes cheap from them, so I doubt it'd ever happen, but I'd love him based on his performance vs France!

    N'Golo Kante

I'd give him whatever he wants. He is an absolute monster and looks the best player on the pitch in nearly every match he plays.

    Leandrinho

Been linked with him for some time -- previous thread: http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/leandrinho.318877/.

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

This apparent denial screams "managed expectations" to me. City probably are not terribly keen on this getting so widely publicized already because they probably still have to negotiate the deal with Dortmund.

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Did you ever see him play a single game for Wolfsburg or Belgium before he signed for City? That's an incredible statement and one I can't even wrap my head around.

Chinese OSCs, Shenzhen Blues + Sun Jihai + Shenzhen Peng City FC

I just hope this tour helps us unload some players to Chinese clubs. Anything else is gravy.

    Gundogan

That definitely doesn't come into play in this instance. All of the signings are the DOF's (Txiki) technically anyway so it's kind of moot. He'll be announced when it's deemed appropriate.

City announce deal with Wolf Blass wines

I'd imagine it's probably not even that specific. The number in the press release is probably something like the number of people who indicated they're interested in both soccer/football and wine and then extrapolated that across the populations in those combined regions.

    Possible return to Umbro?

At current exchange rates, Umbro was bought for about £153m. City should try and get a minimum of a £30m a year kit deal. In all likelihood, the deal would cost a similar amount as Umbro itself.

What a fantastic timeline of events. Well done! Read through it all quite happily.

Players volunteering to take salary cuts?

Most players just restructure their deals, but on occasion you'll find an older veteran will take an actual pay cut since they've made a ton of money already. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have done it in recent years. It happens in the NBA sometimes as well to allow teams to bring in the best...

    Oasis and City fans abroad

This is how a lot of American fans became fans as well. It's a common theme among people in our local supporter's club. My user name is an oasis song and I actually met my wife thanks to her wearing an oasis shirt on the first day of a class we had together (her first day in college actually)...

    Jamie Vardy

Kane would be at least 5 times as much and wouldn't even want to leave Spurs. He's unattainable. Vardy would be. And for those expecting him to be a one hit wonder -- he's now scored against Germany, the Netherlands and Turkey. Seems to me he's staking a claim for continued success.

    Jamie Vardy

If City can get £20m or so for Bony, I'd make this deal in a heartbeat personally.

Should we be looking at new kit deal?- new update pg34 Chelsea NIKE DEAL

Again, it's completely negligible though. A drop in the bucket. They spend $3 billion plus a year on advertising -- they don't need to sell a single shirt for the City deal to be an exceptional value to them due to the advertising that results from it. They had an ad with Drake at the Super Bowl...

Should we be looking at new kit deal?- new update pg34 Chelsea NIKE DEAL

Sorry, this just isn't true. Nike does $30 billion a year in sales. The $17.5 million this City deal costs them means absolutely nothing. It's worthwhile to them without selling a single item because of the exposure it provides. Ubiquity is far more important than the sales.

Should we be looking at new kit deal?- new update pg34 Chelsea NIKE DEAL

I don't agree with that guy's valuation but the shirt sales are completely negligible to these companies. They pay these fees because of the advertising that is associated with it and the fact that every official piece of club gear carries the Nike, Adidas, Puma, etc. logo somewhere. When Nike...
