    Kalidou Koulibaly

I'm pretty calm. I've seen very little of either player, but the 21 year old was brilliant last night & deserved a comment

    Kalidou Koulibaly

if he's as good as Upamecano was last night he'll be worth it. He looks tailor-made for Pep

CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

So FIFA rules are going to be used for the new season re VAR (BBC sport website). However the leagues were allowed to decide for themselves whether or not to continue with 5 subs. Seemingly the EPL thought differently to UEFA by taking into consideration those clubs who would have been at a...

KDB by a country mile - but how we will miss David. What a player & what a guy.

Phil Foden IS one of his big players

    Milan Skriniar

I'd be interested to see how many red cards he's had. He looks a bit too much of a warrior to me. Good player though if he can be calmed down a bit

    Ferran Torres

Looks like a very good prospect. Seems to have a decent touch with his weaker foot, plenty of pace & skill an eye for a pass & a positive attitude. He does remind me a bit of a right footed Leroy. If his attitude is good, I think Pep could work wonders with him.

CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Seriously, chaps. Do not read the Daily Mail. It is completely bereft of morals & original thought.

Man of the Match Brighton PL (A)

One of the best all round performances from City this season. Hard to know how to give MOM to but I was impressed with Walker, Garcia, Sterling, Jesus, Mahrez (apart from his shooting) & KDB as ever. No less than 8/10 for any player including Ederson who's passing was brilliant.

    Liverpool (H) | Pre-Match Thread

These references to Carragher's spitting reminded me how much players from all teams spit when they're playing. Almost every time you get a close up of a player after an incident, they spit. Why? Is it simply copying what they've seen others do for years or is it coached into players? Does...

Man of the Match Arsenal PL (H)

I thought KDB made the difference - again! However, it would have been interesting to see Phil Foden given more time. I thought he was brilliant when he came on.

Real Madrid (A) - CL R16 Post Match thread

I became a City fan in 1968 after THAT game in the snow against Spurs. I've been a Chesterfield fan since before my dad took me to to my first game as a kid. Now City are the best team in the land & all the world & CFC are in the relegation zone of the National League. Never forget how things...

    Everton (H) Post-Match Thread

I agree. He's not tall, he's not particularly quick either but he reads the game so well & is good on the ball. He had a great game today. in my opinion a definite step up from Otamendi.

Do you remember the first City game you ever attended.

Maine Road v West Brom. City went a goal up. West Brom had a player sent off, then equalised. Tony Book hit the bar with a 25 yard shot. City got a winner. Oddly, I can't remember any of the goal scorers. Think it was 1969.

    Harry Maguire

Oh dear. Geography lesson needed I think.

    João Félix

I was hoping he'd have an anonymous game. People can be far too quick to judge a player's ability based on a single performance. Imagine the media frenzy if he'd scored a hat trick & the subsequent rise in his stock. He's 19 and playing in his first full international game. Another game like...

Thought he was a Chesterfield lad. Went to school at St Mary's

    Bruno Fernandes

Yes, I agree with this. I've only seen them in highlights videos, which are, obviously, favourable to the player. But you can judge the quality of the players in terms of what they can do. I agree that BF looks like a similar player to KDB - good passer, good with either foot & some stunning...
