Exactly this. Pulis, for all of his limited approach to the game, understands the art of defending in today's football. He has made him his captain! Objectively Jonny Evans is a good footballer and defender. The footballing world knows this.

To whom it may concern. Remove the rag blinkers and you will see the boy can play. We need an experienced ball playing left sided defender, we also need more home grown players. If Evans had not played for Stretford he would be a no brainer signing. Get over it blues!

That makes perfect sense to me. Part of me wants players to be loyal to their contracts as there is not enough loyalty shown in the game these days. However, where a club has fans that are as delusional as many Arsenal fans appear to be on the Sanchez situation then I'm all for the player...
